5.0 out of 5 stars 光と影と様々な色彩が織り成す奥行きのあるファンタジー, 2003/7/16
　物語の舞台は、「空一面を黒いまくにおおわれた、闇の国」。この黒いまくが太陽の光をさえぎっていて、地上にはまったく光が届かないなか、七つの塔にかこまれた城だけが光を放って輝いているというんです。もうこの設定だけで、ドキドキする物語がはじまる予感に胸がふるえてしまいました。

　予感はずばり適中。一度読み始めたらもう頁をめくる手がとまらない。小さな子どもたちが一日で一気に読み終えてしまうという噂にも納得できます。次から次へ登場する不思議なモンスター。少しずつ明らかになっていく闇の世界の魅力。主人公タルの心の葛藤。ああファンタジーってこんなに面白いものなんだとつくづく思わせてくれる一冊です。

　しかもうれしいことに続きはなんと六巻まで！　これを知ったときの、思わず本を抱きしめたくなるようなうれしさは、おそらく読んだ人にしかわからないでしょう。

読んでいて、挿絵がちょうど良いところに入っていて、とても読みやすかったです。
主人公タルの必死に家族を守ろうとする姿が印象的でした。
テンポよく話が進んでいって、今からつづきが楽しみです☆
読んで損はない一冊です！！

　話自体は結構いいのですが、なんとなく、色で階級が分かれているところがThe Wind Singerとそっくりだったり、シャドガーやスピリシャドウと言うものが黄金の羅針盤に似ていて残念です。特に子供用のシャドガーが色々な形に姿を変えられるところなど、黄金の羅針盤にそっくりです。名前もかなり安直ですし。（シャドガー＝shadow gard＝影の守人、スピリシャドウ＝spirit shadow＝魂の影、サンストーン＝太陽の光を吸った石など…）いただけないですね。
