ストーリーは面白く、たぶん読み出したら止まらない。

でも、日本ではこれを親子で読めるファンタジーとして売られ、美しい友情物語だという感想がきてますが、それはやっぱり変。
やはり物語のはじめにあるように、このお話は、ティーンエージ向けのホラーで、主人公は常に自分のやった愚かな行為の結果を責任をとっているにすぎないからです。

話としては、ハリー・ポッターより、"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" とか「妖怪人間ベム」とかに近い。
かなり残酷なシーンもあるので、想像力の強い人、自分や周りに大怪我の経験がある子には、ショックが大きいかもしれません。

こういう話を親や教師に薦められると、子供はどうしても、主人公を美化した感想を持たないといけないような心理的圧力を受けますが、そんな不自由な読み方は、この話にとっても読者にとっても不幸でしょう。

やはり、こういうタイプの本は、隠れて読んだほうがワクワクするし、主人公の言い訳を鵜呑みにせず、「アホかこいつ」ぐらい言えないと、つまんないです。

1.2.3巻と読みましたが、
どの巻も人を惹きつけて止まないドキドキとした興奮を教えてくれます。
最近では、あまり恐怖感でドキドキとは出来る機会はまたとありません。
そんな、 ドキドキとする恐怖感を味わいたいという人
是非、この本を読んで恐怖のドキドキを味わってはいかがでしょうか？

「ハリー・ポッター」とは違った、恐怖と興奮が読者をわくわくさせてくれます。
夢や希望というより、家族や友達そして人生について教えてくれる本です。

第１作は、バンパイアの始まりと言うところですが、サーカスの人（？）達の描写がすばらしく、本当に目の前にいるようです。
子供から大人まで楽しめる作品で、誰から読むかで家族４人で争っています。
