友達の為にヴァンパイアハーフになってしまった少年の、過酷な宿命の物語。

はっきりいって、…スゴいです。一応児童書なんですがあまりの表紙の綺麗さが気になり、全巻図書館で読破後、文庫化に伴い購入しました。なぜ読み終わったのに買ったかと言うと…絶対最終巻を読んだら、一巻を読みたくなるからです!全てのセリフ・シーンに深い意味があり、無数の伏線が絡み合ってラストへ向かって行く様は、圧巻としか言い様がありません!!
普通のファンタジーのように、ただ「善」が勝つ訳でなく、良い意味で安心して見ていられません('A`)!

この巻はヴァンパイア・クレプスリーとの出会い―まずはここから。

宿命に打ち勝とうとする、ダレンの生涯を、是非見届けて見てください!

前々から気になっていたので、ソフトカバー版が出たので早速購入してみました。
想像以上に物凄いです。面白い！仕事をしている時も、続きが気になって気になって・・・。登場人物も、みんな個性的で、それぞれの人物の境遇もさりげなく書かれているので、すごく感情移入してしまい、ストーリーにのめり込んでしまいます。あらゆる伏線が張り巡らされているので、なかなか複雑なのですが、物語の軸はしっかりしているので、かなりの長編でも、途中で訳が解らなくなることもありません。大人にも是非読んで欲しい作品ですね。

　まず間違いなく、児童文学では最高傑作の一つだろう。それだけでなく、ダーク・ファンタジーの中でも屈指の出来だ。
　ハリー・ポッターと違い、翻訳スタッフが優秀であることも大きい。
　唯一の壁であった値段が消え文庫本になった今、これを買わない手はない。
　・・・ただ、外伝は文庫化されないらしいのでご用心を。
