この作品は感想を書くのが難しい。
それほど、独創的過ぎる話です。

希望と絶望、恐怖と愛、美と醜が入り混じったかなり深い、一大絵巻。
ことの始まりから結末まで、登場人物たちは、少しずついろんなものを失いながら、たんたんと時を重ねる。
そして、最後に残るものは……。

ラストの衝撃を多くの方に味わって欲しいです。

7巻の表紙には、まだサトルとまりんが普通に仲良しだったころの絵が使われている。これは心憎い演出であるが、ラストの展開と合わせて考えるとより物語を芳醇で深遠なものへと昇華している良い表紙だ。

楳図先生のマンガはほんとうに良いマンガばかりだが、それらは総じて、・・・「漂流教室」にしろ「イアラ」にしろ・・・わかるひとにはわかり、わからないひとにはとことんわからない、そういうマンガでもあるだろう。よって、この「真悟」も万人に薦めることはできない。泣ける、泣けない云々の広義の「名作」であるとは、とても思えないのだ。
しかし、何か読む人に妙なとっかかりを残す、良くも悪くも腫瘍のような読後感を刻印する作品である。純粋な力動が心に深い傷跡を残して、その痛みだけが妙な違和感を伴って読む者の人生にひっそりと蓄積されるはずだ。業界にも楳図フリークは多いと聞くが、最近のマンガ家の作品で、この作品からの影響としか思えないマンガを多々読んだことがある。「痛み」はこうして確かに受け継がれていったのだろうか。その意味でも感慨深い。

伝えようとした言葉、
伝わらなかった言葉、
伝えることのできなかった言葉。
そして、最後に残ったのは・・・

わたしにとっては、最後のサトルの決意表明ともいえるセリフをマンガ史に刻み込んだというだけでも、このマンガが存在した意味はあったと思う。

「痛み」のマンガ。
だからこそわたしはこのマンガがだいすきなのだ。

異形の愛の話。
機械が意思を持ったことによる、もどかしくも切ない愛が
読者の心に響きます。
他の要素も多数あり、読みながらもいろいろ考えさせられます。
理屈では語りきれない部分もありますが、きっと忘れられない
1冊となるでしょう。
