~このものがたりをマンガ映画にくるしみたたかいつづけている多くの若い人たちに贈る~(巻頭献辞より)●主な登場人物/宮本武蔵(マンガ映画製作を志す少年。空想癖あり)、佐々木小次郎(佐々木財閥の御曹司。武蔵と同じくマンガ映画製作を志す)●あらすじ/マンガ映画を作りたい宮本武蔵は、マンガ映画製作を手掛ける横川プロダクションを訪ねる。そこで武蔵は、マンガ製作に40年も身を捧げている壇末磨に「絵はうまいが、動きが死んでいる!」と叱られてしまう。納得のいかない武蔵ではあったが、“動く絵”を目指して、似顔絵描きのアルバイトに精を出す。ある日、武蔵は道ばたで不思議な少年に声をかけられる。自称日本一のマンガ家の彼は、武蔵に「似顔絵の勝負をしよう」と申し出る。さっそく受けて立った武蔵だが、あっさりとその少年に負けてしまった…。翌日、その少年が武蔵の家に転がり込んできた。彼の名は佐々木小次郎。聞けば小次郎も、マンガ映画を作りたいのだという。意気投合したふたりは、さっそくマンガ映画製作のための修業を始めるのだが…。
