私は面白かったです。前に読んだ木原さんの『風恋記』が面白かったので、これも読んでみました。
ボーイズラブ(兄弟愛？)の話です。私はボーイズラブと聞いたら引いてしまうような人間ですが、これはとてもさわやかなイメージで、全然嫌な感じがしませんでした。むしろとても楽しめた作品です。
『面白い』という言葉がこの本に合うかどうかはわかりませんが、読む価値はあると思いますよ。『鵺』も面白かったので、そちらを先に読んでから、こちらを読むかどうか決めてもいいかもしれません。

私は能楽が好きで、ときどき実際の舞台でも観ます。能楽については、小説では、杉本苑子さんの『華の碑文』という大傑作がありますが、木原さんのこれも、とても面白かったです。杉本さんの作品は世阿弥が主人公ですが、これは、世阿弥が作りあげた「能楽（申楽）」というジャンルを、後生の人たちが、どうやって発展させていったかというお話でした。

地方の小劇団がのし上がっていくサクセス・ストーリーとして面白さに、芸術性と娯楽性を両立させるための試行錯誤、人間関係のもつれなどが絡み合い、作者不詳と言われている謡曲「道成寺」が誕生するまでの架空の物語まで描いているのですから、もうたまりません。作中に出てくる、実在の能楽作品の描き方も素敵でした。
