思わず涙がこぼれたエピソードはいくつもあるのに、全体のこのスカスカ感。
あんまり壮大な話には向いていないんじゃないかとさえ思える。
この人の、人情話の連作短編みたいなものを読んでみたいなあと思う。

青騎士編（の特に後半）はとても肯定できるものではないのですが、あれを下敷きにするのはどうなんでしょう。
プルートゥのまま進めて欲しかった。せめてアトラスで。

メトロポリスの頃から「ロボットと人間の対立」という未来的な考え方があります。
ここにおいて人間とロボットは対等になる。
それはアトムにおいても同様で、ロボットの”暴走”などの、従属者と見る考え方はアトムにおいては未来らしくもなく、
それゆえに青騎士編の青騎士死亡後の後編は人気も出なかった。それを基盤に置くのは今ひとつ納得できません。

当世売れっ子の一流漫画家が、かつての天才漫画家の二次創作を行うという
破天荒な企画も本巻でラスト。
……やはり、プロはプロです。二次創作になんて手を染めるべきではなかった。
それがわたしからみた感想です。
原作が作られた頃の時代はもう戻ってきません。それに、原作を編み出した
手塚さんも死に、もう１０年以上が経過しています。その間に漫画業界も
大きく変わりました。

でも、やはりプロが他のプロの話を借りてきて二次創作を行うというのには
無理がありすぎです。もし浦沢さんが同人作家だとしたら、あり、だったでしょう。
でも、もう浦沢さんはプロとして一つの名声を築いた人なのですから……。
けっきょく、手塚治虫さんの手のひらの上で踊らされてしまっただけの企みに
終わったような気がします。

二次創作を行うのにも、やはり大義名分は必要です。でも、大義名分があったのか？
存在しなかったと思います。そして、多くの二次創作はけっきょく、顧みられないまま
消えていくのが定めです。だけど、そんな儚い存在だからこそ、原作に一矢報いる
ことができるのです。でも、報うべき要素が原作にあったでしょうか？　無いはずです。

浦沢さんは結局のところ、手塚さんが一番望まなかったことを徒労の果てに成し遂げて
しまったように思います。

でも、ラストは好きですよ。お疲れさまでした。
