味わい深い１〜３巻で、４巻にて急展開です

本巻で松本大洋の画が荒くれます。踊ります。叫びます
只者ではないことが１〜３巻で十分過ぎるほどに分かった瀬能ですが、
只者ではない理由が遂に明かされます。あの名刀の意外な行方も！
そして新たな刺客（しきゃく、じゃないよ、しかく、だよ！）がぁ！

「バガボンド」の精緻さとは異なる、粋な面白さ
瀬能さんの長野弁がまた江戸の町に映えて味わい深いです

ところで、本作。実にお酒が美味くなる漫画だと思う人、
いませんか？（今回、瀬能が呑みます、美味そうに！）

相変わらず魅力的な、味わい深い絵。
飄々とした主人公の雰囲気。

やっぱり、私は、この漫画好きだなと思わされる一冊でした。

そして、色々な事が明らかになります。
陰謀、画策･･･。

そして、早く続きが読みたくなります。


最後に、やっぱり、メシは可愛い。

ずっと「静」の展開だったが、この４巻でついに「動」の展開に突入。だからといって物語がスピーディーに進むのではなく、やはりゆっくりと静かに進んでいく。静かに盛り上がる。それがこの作品の魅力のひとつだと思う。

松本大洋の描く絵には「静かな間」がある。「動」の絵が描かれているコマであってもストップモーションであるかのように感じさせる独特の行間（絵間？コマ間？）がある。だが何故か不思議と動きが感じられる。それが多くのフォロワーが真似できない松本大洋の個性であり魅力だ。

松本大洋は、この作品の執筆前に日仏の漫画家がそれぞれの視点から「日本」を描いた作品集「ＪＡＰＯＮ（飛鳥新社）」に「勘吉」という江戸時代を扱った短篇を発表している。絵柄がかわったなという印象（本作を読んだ後再読したのだが同じ絵柄だった）はあったのだが、１ページ１コマの全１２ページの絵本的な小品であったせいか、味わいはあっても、あまり印象に残る作品ではなかった。

「竹光侍」はこの「勘吉」から想を得た作品だと推測されるが、このままいけば彼の代表作の一つになるはずだ。
