ギャグマンガです。いつものゴーマニズム宣言は読むのに苦労しますが、このマンガは気楽に読めます。定年を迎え、妻に先立たれ、悠々自適の生活をし、気持ちは若々しい主人公という設定。女性との出会い、孫との付きあい、いじめの問題、いろいろテーマが盛り込まれております。楽しいマンガです。

「ゴー宣」以降、小林よしのりはギャグ漫画家としてはもう駄目になった（逆に、ギャグ漫画家としての限界がきたので、ああいう方面にいった・・）。

「ゴー宣」後に書いた、某SF漫画があまりに、つまらなかったもので、つい、そういう印象をもってしまっていたのだが・・。いや、すみません、小林先生、ギャグ漫画家としても、まだまだ全然現役、最高です。

この漫画は、６０歳で定年退職になった「老人」が主人公。
でも、まだまだ現役（実際、現在社会ではそうですよね）と、老人扱いする周囲に抵抗しながら、色んなコトにコダワリまくる、ナイスな主人公。大笑いしながら、しかもちょっとホロリとさせて、読了。（何せ、主人公の自慰シーンまであるのだから）

これは２００６年から「ビッグコミック」に連載開始されている作品。
「ビッグコミック」に小林よしのりが！　というのも驚きだが、ちょうど団塊世代が集団で定年退職するのにあわせての連載、という感じもする。
ちなみに、思想的なコトを、あえて封印しているも、「プロなギャグ漫画家」っぽくてナイス。

本書をひと事で評すると円熟を迎えた東大一直線です。
本書の主人公、チョイ悪おやじは、著者自身の理想像
を描いたものでしょう。わしズムなどの社会派マンガと
は全く一線を画す一書でギャップを楽しめるかもしれま
せん。但し、オウムとの対峙や最近の保守著書から小
林氏の著書を読むようになり、かつての小林氏の漫画
に触れていない方にはあまりお勧めできません。
