「待ってました！」のＳＦ。期待は裏切られませんでした。作中の「火星」「赤い星」というコトバは『スター・レッド』を思い起こさせます。そしてこの最新作進化形では、これまで作者が興味を持ち探究し集積した知識がいつものことながら縦横無尽に炸裂。前作『残酷な神が支配する』とはまた別なタイプの、底知れぬパワーを感じました。

先が読めないストーリー展開。少女が心臓を食らうというショッキングな事件にまつわる謎解きが鍵となります。時は2052年。１巻で死人がはや数人。ちょっとテンポが速すぎる？　渦巻く人間関係が最後に見せてくれる終局はなにか。これもまた先が長いのかもしれませんが、早く知りたい、読みたい、たまらない。

おすすめ参考図書は『魂の伴侶』（ブライアン・Ｌ・ワイス）。前世療法について少し知っておいたほうがより楽しめるのではないかと。

久々に２度読みをしてしまった。

１巻目にして既に様々なイメージが交錯中。火星は、
カニバリズムは、どうストーリに関連していくのか？
秋葉原が出てくるがバルバラと関係あるのだろうか。
エズラ、ヨハネ、キリヤ、彼らの過去は？
そして、家族の惨劇の真相は？

前作「残酷な神が支配する」も込み入ってけれど、

今度はきっと「銀の三角」の込み入り方に近いかも。
希望的観測でしょうか。

オカルトなところは「リング」を思い出してしまった。
お父さんは人の夢に入り込めるある意味超能力者だし、
夢を映像化したバルバラ異界は、怖くはないけれど、
「リング」のあのビデオ映像がちらつく。

いずれにせよ期待も謎も膨らむ一方です。

夢を渡る、
心臓を食べて眠りつづける少女､
絶望しつづける少年。

どれもが興味を惹かれるガジェットで､収束できるのか心配になるほど
謎が次々と広がっていきます｡
しかし、一番の見所は主人公キリヤの絶望ではないかと｡
常に自分が正しいと思っているヒステリー症の母（まじ怖い）に、
幼い頃別れた父､時夫。
時夫は個人としてみれば少々頼りないところもあるけど好もしい人物。
だけど父親とするとあまりにコドモっぽい｡
当然キリヤはまともな人間関係は気付けず､一匹狼で絶望している｡

また、ヒロイン青羽の祖母である十条菜々美もかなり際立っている｡
最愛の夫は叔母と駆け落ち､
最愛の娘は孫に食べられて死亡。
頭が良く､気力もあるけれどどうしようもない怒りと諦めの中で生きている｡
老境の女の哀しみがリアルです｡

メインの謎も勿論､それに絡む人物たちの心理劇にも目が離せません｡

登場人物の名前もあまりに意味深い｡
緻密に練られた物語に是非嵌って欲しいと思います｡
