　表題作「透明人間の失踪」をはじめとした６つの中・短編集。
　前作「記憶の技法」での旅の同行人・怜（さとい）の少年期の覚醒を描く「霜柱の森」。
　日常からほんの少しずれたところにある奇跡について描く「アンナ・Ｏ(オー）」。

　美しく穏やかな顔の内で、自らを守る花剪刀を心に秘めた女子高生。繊細で内向きな意識が、とある事件を通じ外に向かっていく姿を描いた「女子高校生殺人日記」。
　若い男と女。部屋に非日常の状況。そこに現れたのは・・・「粉ミルク」。
　私が愛した貴方は一体誰なのか？貴方を追い、謎解いた果てに私の心に生まれた感情は・・・「透明人間の失踪」。

　救いのある短編「恋愛家族」。

　今回も著者お得意の心理描写が鋭く光ります。人間の奥底に確かに存在する、狂気・憎悪などを描きながらも、構成と各話のバランスの見事さで、読後不快な気持ちは全く残りません。著者の中・短編を支持する方には特にオススメの１冊です。この秋面白い本を探している方も是非一度お読み下さい！

　「記憶の技法」を完全に読み終わる前にこの本を注文してしまった私はバカです。表題作の「透明人間の失踪」を始めとして「アンナ・Ｏ」「霜柱の森」「女子高校生殺人日記」「粉ミルク」「恋愛家族」すべて「記憶の技法」に登載されています。「記憶の技法」を持っている人は買う意味無しの本です。本の半分以上が重複しているってひどくないですか。出版社はどうしてこのような売り方をするのでしょうか。よく確かめなかった自分が悪いとも思うけど、やっぱり腹が立つ。うぅーん。くやしいよぉ。金返せ！作者を気に入っているだけに腹も立つし、許せない。

『ECCENTRICS』や『ぼくだけが知っている』などを読んでいると既視感を感じるようなエピソードもあるかもしれませんが。
サスペンス、不思議な話、ドタバタと面白い話、対人関係の機微。「いろんなページ数の短編集を作りたい」というのがコンセプトだそうですが、ここまで中・短編集として完成度が高いのは凄い。
表題作の『透明人間の失踪』にはゾクリとしました。

読み応えのある一冊です。
