　長らく絶版になっていた島本和彦氏の名作漫画が、実写映画化にともない復刻！！
　
　数々の逆境に立たされながらも、気合いというか、「漢力」というか、とにかく「男ならやってやれ！」な精神で突き進む、主人公不屈闘士。
　不屈の生き様は、野球モノにみられる「根性」なんてまだ生やさしい形容詞では片づけられない「熱さ」があります。
　読んだ後、自分もなんだか熱くなるし、元気になること間違いなし！！

　個人的には「これはまた珍妙なものを発掘してしまった」という感じだろうか。
　決して悪い意味で言っているわけではない。私は屈指の漫画読みではないが、私以上に読み込んでいる人間であるならば、狡猾にギャグ漫画を構築していることに戦慄すら覚えるだろう。
　野球漫画をベースにし、バトル漫画によくありがちなインフレバトル的な展開を批評するかのようにギャグの素材にしてしまい、そのくせ同じ旋律で青春ドラマを奏でる荒業。
　凄まじい……。何だ、この才能は。何だ、この知性は。

絵柄は昭和のスポコン漫画を彷彿とさせます。
私も、最初はこれでもかというほどの濃い絵柄に読むのを敬遠してました。

しかし、いざ読み始めてみると、主人公を始めとする野球部ナインの必要以上の熱血っぷりに、
思わず笑いを誘われてしまいました。

なんなんでしょう、スポ根はスポ根なんでしょうけど、そんじょそこらのスポ根では
ありません。

タイトル通り、逆境にさらされっぱなしの彼ら。そんな彼らのもがくさまが
実に滑稽であったり、また爽快でもあります。

始めに絵柄を見て受けた印象だけでは、とてもじゃないけど想像出来ませんでしたよ。
この漫画が、こんなにも素晴らしく読ませる力のある漫画だったなんて。
