同じサンデーＧＸコミックのブラックラグーンが好きで、その作者さんの広江さんが推薦していた漫画、ということで興味本位で一巻だけ何となく購入してみました。読んでみて、あまりの面白さにビックリ。翌日には現在出ている三巻まで一気に購入してしまいました。両親の死をきっかけに、全ての武器を心から憎む少年ヨナ。にもかかわらず、武器商人である女性ココや彼女の小隊と行動を共にすることになります。銃撃戦漫画というカテゴリーに入っているみたいですが、この巻に関してはストーリー重視だったかも。もちろん普通に撃ち合いはあるんですけどね。この作品は、ココがいいですね。クールな雰囲気をまとったやり手の武器商人。でも冷たい雰囲気ではなく、オトボケも忘れない、部下想いの温かなクール美人というのがいいです。彼女の小隊メンバーも、めちゃ強くてクセがある人物ばかりですが、みんな魅力的です。若干この巻ではヨナの影が薄いですね。ブラックラグーンの広江さんもそうですが、この漫画の作者、高橋さんも、強い女性を描くのがとても上手です。表紙だけみると結構ダークでグロい感じがするんですが、表紙負けせず、一度読んでみてほしいです。きっとハマると思います。ちなみに一巻表紙の左がココで、右がヨナです。

試作型の戦闘機、新型の爆弾―――人を殺す、『武器』。
両親を殺した『武器』を誰よりも憎みながら、それに頼らざるを得ない。
少年兵・ヨナと武器商人ココのお話です。

テーマ自体は凄く重く難しいものなんですが。
ココの私兵達はどこかヌけてていつも楽しげ。
故にか、あまり難しく考えることなく読めます。

銃をぶっ放す姿に痺れます。
ナイフで掻っ捌く姿に震えます。
バルメのココラヴっぷりに悶えます。

独特の荒さと雑さを持った絵柄もまた良い感じ。
迫力、スピード感、緊張感―――ガンアクションの『肝』部分。
上手く雰囲気出てます。

オビの推薦文を書かれている御二人。
伊藤明弘さんや広江礼威さんの漫画が好きな方には、文句なくオススメです。

……個人的には、総毛立つ台詞をもう2、3個散りばめておいて欲しかったかと。

　武器商人ココ・ヘクマティアルとその配下の傭兵たちに出会った少年ヨナ。彼らは今日も戦場を行く！、というようなお話です。話の雰囲気は少し重い感じがしますが、ガン・アクションでハラハラさせられる場面もあります。
　この第一巻を見る限り、どちらかと言えばストーリー重視の作品かな？と、私は思います。
