新選組の山場ですね。池田屋事件
しかし、この作品のすごいところは、池田屋事件だけを描いているのではないのです。
五巻の最後に出てきた、坂本竜馬。
六巻は坂本竜馬、望月亀弥太と歳三が出会い、様々なことを語り合うところから始まります。
そお出会いによって、歳三は京都焼き討ちの一端を知ることになるのですが・・・。

敵対関係にある、坂本竜馬と新選組・・・しかし坂本はそれを知らず、歳三を「友達」として望月に紹介します。
坂本や望月の志、それは歳三が長年追い求めてきた物だったのです。
しかし、歳三は、彼らと歩むべきが違うことに気付きます。

歳三の古高に対する拷問はあまりにも有名ですが、そのシーンも柴らしかったです。
「俺は、小さな人間だ。だがこれくらいなことなら出来る」
「近藤さんのためになら、どんな汚いどぶだろうと、手を突っ込む」
この二つのセリフが、今度の歳三の原動力になるのではないでしょうか。

更には、山南さんと平助の関係にも注目です。史実を知っている私としては、本当に悲しすぎる。今後の伏線が貼られていますね。

望月亀弥太が、とってもカワイイ顔をしています。坂本竜馬も少しだけ天然が入っているような・・・。

今回のメインは、池田屋事件ですね。
新選組の序盤のクライマックスとも言えるこの事件。
戦いの描写がとてもリアルで、迫力がありました。

今回は坂本竜馬、望月亀弥太と歳三が出会ったことにより、京都焼き討ちの一端を知ることになります。
しかし、坂本は歳三を「友達」として受け入れる。
そして坂本や望月の志が、自分が長年思い続けたことだ、と歳三は気付きます。しかし、決定的に彼らは辿るべき道が違うのです。この二人に出会ったことにより、歳三は自らが歩む道を再確認します。

同じ志を持つ志士と敵対することに苦しむ山南、そしてそんな彼を慕って、歳三の勇に対する気持ちと同じ気持ちを持つ平助。
それぞれの心の葛藤なども丁寧に描かれていました。

池田屋事件の名物、沖田総司の喀血。平助の額の傷なども、しっかり描かれています。
