４巻にはいってますます快調。

キャラクターがそれぞれ個性的な動きを始めました。

ヤングサンデーの廃刊のあおりを
もろに食らってしまった作品だけれど
スピリッツ移籍後の
ストーリーのつなぎも
とっても上手にクリア。

いまさらながら
書道を始めてみたくなります。

　大江くんがアルバイトをする気になり紹介された蕎麦屋に行くと、鵠沼高校書道部の宮田さんの家だった。完全に忘れ去られていた大江くんではあったが、海外からの観光客の対応を見てからは、何か宮田さんも気にかけている様子。しかし、再三のアプローチにも全く気付く様子のない大江くん。
　一方、望月さんは、商店街で二人が歩いている姿を偶然見かけてから、どうもご機嫌斜め。あっさりインターハイで優勝したが、一向に気分は晴れない。加えて、書の甲子園に出品する作品として、大字書を勧められるが、崩した読めない字の良さがまったく理解できず、あまりやる気になれない。そんな時、偶然にも大江くんのお祖母ちゃんと遭遇する。
　ここでお祖母ちゃんが崩した字の魅力を教えてくれるのだが、その説明が良かった。字を単なる記録用のツールとしてだけでなく、それ自体に情報を乗せて書くという方法があるということを初めて知った。まあ、それも行き過ぎると、抽象画の解釈みたいに素人には理解できないものになってしまうのかもしれないが…
　一年生部員の二人が、それぞれのやり方で真剣に書に向かい合っている様からは、とてもアツいものを感じる。

どんどん面白くなってきた「とめはねっ！」4巻です。縁のおばあさんに結希は大字書に素直に取り組めないという相談をします。書の意味を「伝える」ということを、ほんの少し理解できたような結希。たよりなさそうだった良寛さんの字がやさしい良寛さんの字に思えてきたようです。

良寛さんの書の話を読んでから表紙の「風」を眺めてみると、加茂杏子の「風」は颯爽とした疾風のイメージに思いました。単行本の表紙の書はキャラクターイメージを表してるんですね。河合センセ芸人ですね。折り返し4コマも健在で嬉しいです。

4巻ではチープな「あんの、だまし絵野郎！」といった苦笑ものや、望月結希が書いてきた〇の意味がしっかりとした伏線だったりと、手堅い仕事は見事なかぎり。

そして、宮田さんという望月さんにとってのライバル出現も物語の予感アリ。ユカリちゃんの宮田庵のバイトも鎌倉という観光都市と帰国子女という設定を上手にいかしているなぁ、と感心してしまいます。それにしてもＹＳの休刊はまいりましたね。作品が継続できたことはありがたいと思います。

これからも読み続けます。みんなで応援していきましょう。がんばれ河合先生！
