OLやめて無職な芽衣子さんと芽の出ないバンドマン種田。
世間的に言うならば、超過料金は高いよ？な単なるモラトリアム延滞者だ。
どうにかしなきゃ。どうにもなんない。
小さな起伏はあるけれど、淡々と流れる日常。
ぶつかるのは怖い。否定されるのも、零れ落ちるのも怖い。
でもレールに乗って走るのはもっと怖い。

「ソラニン」はじゃがいもの芽なんかに含まれる毒だ。
放っておくと出てくる。取っちゃった方が安心して食べられる。
ずっと放っといたら、そのじゃがいもは食べられなくなり、捨てるよりほかにない。

ゆっくりと終焉を迎えるはずだったモラトリアムより先に、唐突に断ち切られたのは日常だった。
しかし失速し完全に止まったかのように見えたそれは、いつしかのろのろと動き出し、また何事もなかったかのように流れはじめる。

結局なにひとつ大きな救いがあったわけではない。
ただ、生きていく。きらきらもどろどろもぐちゃぐちゃも全部ひっくるめて抱え込んで生きて、これからも生きていくだけの、それだけの話だ。

心の掬い取り方が、自分にはとても合う作家さんだ。
この感覚を形にするとこんな形になるんだ、と、
目の前が少しだけ開けたような錯覚を起こさせてくれる、数少ない人。
これからもこの人の作品はチェックしていきたい。

この作品を読み終わったとき言葉が出てこなかった。この感情を表現できなかった。ぼーっとして、漠然と自分のことを考えた。

さて、俺はどうしようか?

自分と同世代の青春群像劇。「自分の気持ちがよく分からない」この微妙なニュアンスを描かせたら右に出る作家はいないと思う。なんかわかんないが泣けてくる。
1巻は夢と現実の間で揺れる登場人物達を俯瞰して見つつも自分を重ねたりしてた。いつのまにか自分は種田だった。この2巻も同じように読めたのだが、なんか違った。芽衣子が自分だった。自分が芽衣子なんじゃなくて、芽衣子が自分だった。伝わるかなこの違い。単なる物語の主人公への感情移入じゃない。こんなに現実感を覚えた漫画はない。

幸せってよくわからない。自由に生きるって難しい。今日が良ければそれでいいなんて軽はずみ。だけど、今日はこれでいい。そうやって今を生きてやる。自分は自分の道をゆこうと思った。「たとえそれが険しい道で、世界の果てまで続いていようとも」。
と作中の言葉を借りなければ、やっぱりうまく言葉に出来ない。
十代、そして特に二十代前半の諸君、読んでほしい。

バンドが好きだったり、フリーターだったり、ちょっと夢が見つけられなかったり、っていう今っぽい彼ら。
なんとなく、そして時にものすごく、共感できて、泣いてしまうところがたくさんある。
うううっ、とぐぐぐっと、ほろりとないて、明日もがんばろう、って気持ちになった。

いにおみたいな漫画、ユニセックスで、そよ風みたいなタッチは心地よい新感覚だと思う。
