ちょとふとめのゆりちゃんが北海道で繰り広げる物語。
一見コメディタッチで実際笑える部分もありますが
実はとても深いテーマが根底にはあると思います。

人間の内面をえぐるような描画が
とても上手な方だと思います。

誰もが生きて中で経験するちょとした葛藤や
挫折・孤独などをうまく描いていると思います・・・

もちろんちゃんと愛情の部分も描かれているので
救われます。

最愛の恋人をガンで失った後、誰にも恋愛感情を持てなかったスミレが、血のつながらない妹のゆりにいつの間にか心癒され、最後は結婚という形で結ばれる最終巻。ゆりの性格の良さがとても良かった。ただ、スミレのように強引で乱暴な言葉遣いの男に惹かれるゆりの気持ちはわからない（笑）。花屋敷家で唯一ゆりと半分血がつながっている弟の葵は、ゆりを愛しながらも決してむくわれることはない。その方がかわいそうだった・・・。

きょうだいの中で一番上の姉、芙蓉が、漫画家の猫吉の気持ちに応える場面はさりげなかったが感激。子供を顧みない母親との関係から他人との間に壁をつくっていた芙蓉が、猫吉によって心を開かれていく過程はこの物語のもうひとつの軸だったように思う。
