吉田秋生さんのコミックは、もともと登場人物たちの感情が、複雑に、でも絶妙に絡み合って、濃厚なドラマを作っていくのがひとつの特徴だが、特にこのシリーズでは、６人の高校生が、お互いにも、自分自身にも、そして自分の家族にも、濃密に思いをめぐらして、ストーリーのピースが埋められている。すっきりした絵柄でなければ息苦しいほどだが、ちゃんと忘れられない場面を散りばめ、主人公たちと思いを共有したという読後感が持てるのは、さすが。

あと、場所とストーリーの絡ませ方が本当に効果的！小さな駅のプラット・ホーム、校庭の水道、音楽室、水を入れる前のプール等等、それに何より鎌倉。人間一人一人、場所それぞれにドラマがあるんですね。本当に引っ越したくなります。

この作品は、主な登場人物６名それぞれの恋愛をそれぞれの視点で描いている。一度読んでも理解できないかもしれないが、何度か読み返すうちに、理解できる。 噛めば噛むほど味が出る。そんな作品である。

久しぶりに読んだコミックがこの本でよかった。 胸の中がスッキリする物語です。 ラヴァーズ・キス (2)とセットでどうぞ。
