　今回、セイちゃんがさらに精神的にたくましくなったなー
って感じがした。ちょっとやそっとじゃへこたれない。
総ちゃんは総ちゃんで、ヤキモチなんか焼いちゃったりして、
セイちゃんに対する自分の気持ちを表に出す様になってきたので、
読んでる側は見ていてとても楽しい。
当の本人達は野暮天カップルなので、
お互い相手の気持ちには全く気付いてない様子だが、
このくっつきそ〜でくっつかない段階ってのが、
一番ドキドキして、少女漫画の醍醐味でもあるのではないかな。
二人が顔を赤らめて、うふふなシーンもあったりして、
これはファンへのサービスかしらなんて思ったり♪
こんな幸せな二人が見られるのも、もうしばらくの間だけ
なんだろーな（ぐすっ）。

本編に出てきた勘定方の河合耆三郎の話は良く知られているが、
渡辺先生が描くとやはり、土方は残忍な面もあるが、
常に頭のキレる格好良い人物として納得させられてしまう。
深雪太夫の身請けの話も出てきて、物語も終盤に近づいてきたのかなぁ・・・
兎に角、次巻が待ち遠しい。

25巻が出るのを首を長くして待っていたのですが、勘定方のお話はちょっといたたまれなかったです。河合さんの処断は、史実通りなんでしょうか？史実を知らないのでわかりませんが、隊士を切腹に追い込みたくない優しい河合さんを、無慈悲にも処断してしまった土方にちょっと憤りと恐怖を感じました。そこが「鬼」の所以なのかもしれませんが…。金子を盗んだ小川に関しては、話が少しベタに感じました。狼狽える姿を見て、すぐに「怪しい」と感じましたので。最後のおセイちゃんの言動もちょっと受け入れられなかったです。河合さんを死なせたくない、と一所懸命に行動していたのに、ちょっとあっさりしてるような気がして…。一応土方には嫌味のつもりなんでしょうけれど、それでも今までの話からみて軽い感じがしました。

前半には、土方の青春時代のお話。後半には深雪太夫のお話（つづき）が収録されています。
労咳に倒れた土方を自分の身も顧みずに看病する近藤の姿は、ちょっと感動しました。それ故、次に収録されていた勘定方のお話がキツく感じられました。

3.0 out of 5 stars 鬼の副長が少し出てくる, 2009/10/27
新選組を守るため、鬼となった土方があまり出てこないのがこの作品の不満な部分だったが、今回はほんの少しだけ鬼が顔を出す。物足りない。少女マンガだから仕方ないんだろうが、燃えよ剣や新選組血風録の凄みのある鬼の副長に比べると、うーんやっぱり物足りない。あの髪型も違和感ありすぎる。じゃあ読むなよ、言われればそれまでだが、巻末に載ってるおまけ(これが毎回面白い!)を読みたいし、新選組滅亡の道程をどう描くか、龍馬暗殺をどう描くか見たいから、また買うな。
