4.0 out of 5 stars タイトルが内容とややミスマッチに感じるので星−１です, 2007/8/13
飯塚氏のまんが技法書のファンなので購入いたしました。

新條＆飯塚コンビは00年発行の技法書「めざせ!!まんがの星」内で
丁寧で分かりやすい説明をしていたので、今作もそういった傾向かと
タイトルからも予想していたのですが、全く違いました。

「まんがの星」では一人でコツコツやるような単純な技法と
その練習方法について扱っています。
一方こちらでは新條先生がまんが家を目指し、
成功するまでの経験談メイン、
藤子A先生の『まんが道』のようなスタイルです。

新條先生が家族・アシ先の先生・付き合っていた男・編集等
周囲の人々から何を吸収して成長していったかのドラマに熱いものがあります。
特に出色な所は、商業誌デビューが目標では無く、
なんと大ヒット作家になるまでを追っているところです。目標が高い。
全体のボリュームで、1/3まででアシスタント、2/3の段階でデビュー、
残りがヒット作家になるまで…となっており非常に現実的な話が多いです。
例えば貧乏、同期の妬み、アンケート、キャバクラ勤めも漫画と同列に語られ、
日常生活を全て漫画に活かすしたたかさが新條先生の強みと感じました。

しかしテクニック面の説明を期待する人には不向きと言えます。
飯塚氏のオーソドックスな技法説明は「古くさいマンガ指導」として
ツッコミ・補足のみ、全体の十分の一もありません。
（そういった説明は飯塚先生の「まんが家になろう！」に詳しいです。
今読んでも充分に為になる良著作なので、是非一読下さい）

新條まゆ先生が好きなので買ってみました。
漫画の描き方教室系の本ですが、細かいテクニックなどは特に載っておりません。
作者自身の体験をもとにした、漫画デビューからヒット作を生み出すまでの軌跡（ストーリー）です。

漫画家を目指すが芽が出ない方は勿論、作者に興味のある方は読んでみてもいいと思います。
カラー口絵のカラー原稿の描きかたドキュメントはなかなか良かったです。

そして、なんといっても
一般的な描きかた本には載らない、編集者とのやりとりなどが大変興味深い一冊です。

一言でこの本を説明すると「『まゆたん』はこうして完成した！」

この本を技法書として考えてはいけません。
まゆたん節炸裂のギャグ漫画として買うのであれば星５つ。
技法書として考えるのであれば、かなり薄い内容なので
(探せばすぐネットでも読める程度の解説)星１〜２がいいところでしょうか。
まゆたんの生い立ち・生き様・考え方が伝わってくる素晴らしい本だと思います。
ファンならずとも「まゆたん入門書」として是非１冊、値段もお手頃です。
