　さて、ソムリエールの活躍を描いた３巻目です。悪戦苦闘しながらも、ソムリエールとして健気に働く主人公です。様々な人間模様を描きながらワインが紹介されています。それがマニアックにならずしかも為になる。作者の城アラキ氏のこういった描き方はバーテンダーでも遺憾なく発揮されています。両方読めばお酒に対して蘊蓄をかなり垂れることが出来ます。作品単体としても充分に読ませてくれるコミックです。

第2巻の妙に暗い印象からは少し抜け出せた第3巻。

相変わらずカナちゃんは説教臭さが抜けきらず…ですが、
支配人の片瀬氏が情熱を取り戻し、新シェフの加入で
エスポワール全体が少しずつ活気が取り戻されたことで、
ストーリーが少し明るくなった（そう言えば表紙も明るい色だ）
ので、読める作品になってきた印象。次巻にも期待。


それから、おまけに付いてくる特別編だが、蛇足以外の
何者でもない。本編に多少なりとも影響があるならともかく、
全くないのであれば掲載する意味もない。これは止めて
いただきたいものだ。

城アラキ氏のファンとして敢えて厳しいことを書かせてもらいます。１巻から３巻まで読んできた印象では、氏の原作の他の作品、「ソムリエ」「新ソムリエ/瞬のワイン」「バーテンダー」に比べると、この作品では作話や役の作りこみの段階で随分と手を抜いているように思った。そもそも若い娘にワインを語らせるという設定自体に無理があるように思う。カナがどう見ても彼女よりも人生経験のある相手にワインについて語ると、それがワインに対する「愛情」を語っていたとしても、高みからの説教のように聞こえ、「小娘が、、、」「何様？」という抵抗感を持ってしまう。つまり、語られる内容に比べていかにも彼女は弱い印象があるのだ。結局、他の作品ではワインに対して（そして人生経験という点でも）かなりの実績のある、あるいは実力のある男達にやらせていたことを、この作品では小娘にやらせているだけであり、（その点で多少一般には受け入れ易くなっているかもしれないが）ソムリエ−ルである必然性が感じられないのだ。今後は、その点が改善されて、説得力を増していくことを期待したい。
