今回玄野はスーツを着ておらず、でやたらと自分の彼女の事を回想したりするので、まさか玄野まで死ぬんじゃないか？と思わずにはいられません。
なにしろ重要人物だと思われた加藤、岸本、その他大勢が過去に死んでいるので、下手したら玄野も。。。。という緊張感があります。

今までの漫画と違うのは、こいつはやられないだろうという予想がまったく通用しない漫画です。ましてや生き返ったりなどという安っぽい展開はまず無いでしょう。
目が離せませんな。

誰にも必要とされたこともなく（あの家族との距離感）自分のことしか考えていなかった最低（つまり普通）の主人公、玄野。
彼は心から愛するひとを得て初めて「生きて彼女のもとに帰りたい」と願う。
だから玄野は今までに最高に必死だ。
そして、彼はもう自分だけが助かるだけじゃだめだと思いはじめている。

昔、玄野が小学生だった時、彼にあこがれて、彼みたいになろうと恵まれない環境で精一杯まっすぐに生きていた同級生。
今はもういないけど、彼に「君の不幸は無駄じゃなかった」と伝えてあげたい。
君の憧れた玄野は今、君のようにあろうと生きてるよ。

１２巻からのかっぺ星人編の続きです。
スーツを着たおっちゃんとともに恐竜たちと戦う玄野はすの生きる力を遺憾なく発揮させ、他の新メンバーたちからリーダーとして指名されます。
そして玄野は、かつてリーダーとして他のメンバーたちの命も救おうと奮闘した親友・加藤の姿を思い浮かべ、彼の行動を理解し、リーダーとしての自覚を持っていきます。
玄野がチラノサンを前にして、少年時代に加藤に言った言葉どおりに自らの勝利を信じて戦いを挑んでいくシーンは素晴らしいです。
また、玄野が自己中心的な人間から自分だけでなく他の人間たちの命も救おうと努力するリーダーとして成長していく姿も感動的です。
初めに人間の汚い部分もしっかり描いているので、その成長も素直に感動できます。
おっちゃんとの名コンビぶりも必見です（笑）
