はっきり言います。
これは痛い読み物です。
まさに「リアル」。
現実とは時に、過酷過ぎる。
全く他人事ではない。

井上雄彦は最も好きな作家の一人。
バスケを中心に描いている点では『スラムダンク』と同じだが、
本作はそんなサワヤカなものではない。
それに、ただ「障害を乗り越えて頑張ろうぜ」みたいなノリのマンガでもない。

ただ淡々と、人間に起こる「リアル」を描く。
本当に心が痛かった。

井上雄彦が、少年誌の手に負えなくなってしまったのは、
むしろ『バカボンド』のためではなく
こういった「リアル」が描きたかったからではないかと思った。
本作には、脱皮してさらに研ぎ澄まされていく
作者の才能がありありと溢れている。

今後の井上雄彦に期待している人??、是非本作を読んでもらいたい。
彼がこれからもすっと魅力的な作家として活躍していくことを
確信することが出来ると思いますよ。

リアル第一巻。　　　　井上雄彦は中学の頃スラムダンクに
はまって以来大好きな作家の一人だったので手にとってみた。
この頃はまだ自分は健康で普通に働いていて
「久々に面白い漫画に出会えて良かった。早く続きでないかなぁ。」
というのが率直な感想だった。

それが二巻が出たときくらいに病気になって、苦しんで、

そして・・・私には障害が残った。

三巻がでる時にはもう立派な障害者になっていた。
久々に漫画を読んで泣いてしまった・・・。
また今、一巻から何度も何度も読み返す。
何度でも読めば読むだけ心に響く。

それは・・・この漫画が「リアル」だからだ。

障害者を描いた漫画は数あれど、その内一体どれくらいの

漫画が本当の障害者の現実を描いた作品として存在するのだろう。

もちろん、あえて現実的に障害者を描かない作品もあると思うが。

とにかく凄い、凄まじさがこの作品にはある。

ノンフィクションよりも「リアル」なフィクション。
それが今ここに存在している。

『スラムダンク』もすりきれるくらい読んだけど、『リアル』は忘れられないものになりそうです。以前、パラリンピックのメダリストの特集テレビを見たことがあるけれど、その練習量や身体を包む雰囲気は、まさに「アスリート」と呼ぶのにふさわしいものでした。かっこいかったです。

　車椅子バスケのマンガだけれど『リアル』では心が沸き立つような、真剣勝負の高揚感をすげー感じてしまいます。[試合の中の勝負がつくその瞬間]の描写なんてしびれるくらいかっこよくて、たまらんです。「ハンディキャップがありながら・・・」なんていうのは、くだらない言葉だろうと思う。　このマンガの登場人物がかっこいいのも、モデルからしてかっこいいんだから題名が『リアル』なのも納得がいくような気がせんでもないです。
