最初の頃は良かったのに・・・・。徐々に人間離れしていく主人公達 。絶対中学生じゃないプレイ。並のプロテニスプレイヤーより強い中学生 そして遂に最終巻で化け物VS超人の決着がつきます!・・・どこが中学生やねん!もう少し王道的なスポーツ漫画にして欲しかった!作者は絶対途中で中学生という設定忘れてたな。最初は中学生っぽくて好きだったのに。

トータルでの功績から、一応完結させたような雰囲気が漂う。
話に連続性が欠けており、一貫性ナシ。
途中までが普通に良かったのと、キャラが立っていただけに思い入れを抱いてしまっていたため、最後は辛く読みにくい作品になった。

綻びが更なる綻びを呼び、最終話では無敗の主人公を描きながら正反対のメッセージを重ねるなど、ストーリーは完全な崩壊を見せて終息を迎える。
作者は、どうにか形をつけて作品を生きながらえさせることをさせず、自爆の道を選んだように思える。

一回目の氷帝との対戦と、そのフォロー数話で終わっていたら胸に残る青春ストーリーだった。
一歩間違えるとはぐれものになりかねない彼らが、ひたむきに生きている姿が好きでした。

何はともあれ、先生も皆様もお疲れ様でした。

ジャンプの歴史に残るスポーツギャグ作がついに完結。
バイオレンスにまみれたコート上で爬虫類ヅラのチューガクセーたちが超能力を連発。キャラクターのチョコレート獲得ランキングが始まったり、漫画のキャラにお付き合いして作者が半端なボウズにしたり、「♪バレンタインデーキィッス〜」とセクシーな吐息まじりで漫画のキャラクターがCDをリリースしたり、…と漫画外での展開も含めて全世界の爆笑を誘った。そういやミュージカルなんてのもやってたっけ？

そして…最終回の…ぷひゃぁっ！…意味不明の歌…くくっ。
コンビニで立ち読みしながら私は腹の底からあふれる笑いと、瞼の奥からあふれる涙を止めることはできなかった。　全　世　界　が　泣　い　た　。

この作品を上質のギャグ作と認めずに、虚実を混同させかつ爬虫類ヅラを脳内で美化することで妄想を楽しむ一派…いわゆる801アンチ…からのプレッシャーに負けず、独自のギャグスタイルを貫き通した作者は立派だと思います。　立派だと思います。

次回作は「テニスの王子様　―アメリカ編」です。
中途半端な英語力で作者とリョー魔様が奮闘します。抱いて！
