今大会唯一泥門に黒星をつけている西部と白秋の戦いがメインのこの２８巻ですが、
白秋の強さ、峨王の凄さを大げさに表現すべく、西部が雑魚扱いされています。
試合は接戦のように終盤までもつれてはいますが、結局白秋は峨王が一人暴れまわって
西部を粉砕したという感じ、円子や如月はなーんにもしていません。
要するに、結局のところ、余裕の勝利といえるでしょう。
いくら白秋が強い、とはいえ、西部ほどのチームがこんなにボコボコにやられてしまうのは
どう考えてもやりすぎ、この後の展開に無理が生じるのは明白です。

もそも神速の早撃ちキッドが、パワーがウリの峨王に何であんなやられ方をしているのか？
いくらパワーがものすごい、とはいえ、神速の早撃ちをつぶすほど速いのだから、峨王は
瞬発力、スピードもものすごいということしか考えられません。
同時に、陸もつぶされている事から、やはりパワーだけというのはありえないでしょう。
鉄馬にいたっては一撃、魅力的なキャラだっただけに、結局彼の何が凄かったのか？が
語られないまま終ってしまうことになりそうなのは、全く残念です。

神龍寺戦をピークに、下降気味に感じるアイシールドですが、新たに登場する敵を強大に
見せるべく、過去戦った相手があっさりやられてしまう、というジャンプの悪癖の流れに、
見事飲み込まれてしまった感じです。
ここまで続いていても、画力に衰えは見えず、手抜きも見られず、せっかく面白い漫画だった
のに・・・、残念極まりないですね、著者がネタ尽きた、という感じでしょうか。

初登場時から嫌な予感はしていたが的中。

あくまで私見だが、峨王のキャラクターはこの作品に
あっていない。

無論、本物のアメフトは怪我も多く時には死人も出るような
スポーツだが、過度なデフォルメと純粋にスポーツとしての
笑いと感動、この作品が貫いてきたのはそういうカラーであり、
こういった形でシリアスになることはまず無かった。

マンネリ化を打開するための策なのか、それとも別の理由が
あるのかは知る由もないが、この展開は萎える。

まあ『敵』としては、阿含がギリギリのラインだったように思う。

正直、峨王が強すぎた…
キッドや鉄馬が簡単にやられてしまったし陸も峨王を抜く事ができなかった。
ここまで圧勝してきた西部がいとも簡単に主軸を折られ負けてしまった。
もうすこし競り合ったほうが良かったと思う。

でも、絵はきれいだし手を抜いてる感じはない。
人間離れしているのは多少あるけど漫画だからしょうがないと思う。
クリスマスボウルに向けて成長していく泥門の面々に期待したいと思う。
次巻も楽しみです。
