このシリーズ始まって以来、表紙に人物ひとりだけのイラスト。
折り返しで作者自身が語るように、パンジャ編は非常に思い入れ深いようだ。

今巻は、トーマス編のクライマックスと、パンジャ編がまるまる収められている。
トーマスの蠅王の鎧の生み出す地獄の流砂に果敢に挑むロージー。
辛くも勝利する一行だったが、ペイジ、ヨイチに重大な知らせを受け、
休む間もなく北の地、吼千峡（ほうせんきょう）へ向かう。
途中、とあるホテルで助っ人に来た今井裁判官と笹ノ葉梅吉と合流するのだったが……

パンジャ編は、これまでとは少し違うスリルを味わうことが出来る。
静かに迫り来る箱舟、パンジャとミックの登場。四面楚歌の中、今井裁判官が！　ムヒョが！
執拗にロージーに執着するパンジャは、かれに「思い出して欲しい」と言う。

作者の思い入れが特にわかる終盤は、どのキャラの魅力もうまく引き出されており、
ドラマティックで思わず引き込まれ、ホロリとさせられてしまった。
こういうところが作者、西 義之氏の作品の魅力でもある。

わたしは、ちょうど前巻収録分までコミックス派だったのでしたが、
この作品がますます好きになり、掲載誌も読むようになりました。
魅力の詰まった１冊。ぜひ手に取っていただきたい。

5.0 out of 5 stars ありきたりのはずなのに、そうじゃない, 2006/12/9
優しくしてもらった事があって、その人に執着に似た恋心を・・・・といった比較的よくある設定なのに、読んでいてありきたりだとは思えなかった。
キャラクター達の魅力と、思わず共感したくなる言葉の数々に、気づけばすっかり魅せられていました。
パンジャが最後、笑って逝けたこと、エビスの復活など、良かったな、と思えたのもつかのま、これからかなりハードな展開になりそうで、今からドキドキしています。
コミックス派なので、じりじりと、次の巻が出るのを待ちたいと思います。

ムヒョは好きでずっと買っています。
今回はパンジャ編です。
全体的にとても好きな雰囲気ですが、パンジャの過去の展開が少し早すぎたかな〜と感じました。
幽霊が見えて、それで苛められて、親にも捨てられる・・？正直、・・・・え？と思いました。
親に捨てられる理由としては弱い。そこが少し気になりました。
敵キャラだけど憎めない、それがムヒョに共通することでもあると思うので、もう少し丁寧にパンジャ編を描いてほしかったです。
でも、おもしろいです。
