最終話、本当に泣いた。何であんなに泣いたのだろう？

わたしは『I'll』が大好きだが、話の作り方自体が「巧い！！」と感じたことはない。
けれどそれ以上に重要な、もっと大きな力がこの漫画には加わっていて、
登場人物みんなを好きにならずにはいられない。
バスケを、国府津を、『I'll』を好きにならずにはいられない。

浅田氏は、物語の世界の空気を本当に丁寧に描いている。
誰でも心のどこかに持っていて忘れられない風景のようなものを漫画にしてしまう。
それはあの日の空の色や、風の音、体育館の匂い、波の音、仲間の声。

茜、菫、柊・・・国府津高校バスケ部。
人と出会って全力で関わることは大切だなぁと思って、
多分わたしは泣いたのだと思う。

菫の回想モノローグもエンディングを迎える。
そしてまるで夢のようでリアルな物語が、ついに終わってしまった。

私自身も小中高とバスケをやっていたので、好んで読んでいた漫画なのですが、とうとう終わってしまい、少し淋しい気持ちです。

14巻の内容は、私の予想とは違った結果で、
多少驚きましたが、こういう終わり方も、よかったんじゃないかと思います。
やはりこの漫画は漫画の域をどこか超越した、不思議な漫画でした。

バスケ独特のスピード感溢れる展開に、自分まで吸い込まれるようなストーリーと人物描写でした。
14巻は、私個人の感想としては、少々スピード感を通り越して
走りすぎた感があるなぁと感じましたが、やはり最後は感動でした。

漫画の域を通り越すようないきいきとした登場人物たちに、お疲れ様、ありがとう、と心から伝えたいです。

そして9年間もこの絵、話共に質の高い漫画を描き続けた作者にも敬意を表します。

前から菫の過去を振り返るような言葉が気になっていました。
それは、懐かしむかのように、
もう戻れない場所を憂えているかのように、いつも切なく響いていて。
本誌で茜が怪我をしたとき、ああ、こういう事かと、納得しました。

常に前へ前へと吹く風で廻りを巻き込んで。
国府津と仲間と走ってきた茜が厳しい現実に打ちのめされるその様。
周囲の混乱と、苛立ち。
そして、素直じゃない柊の友情。
「またな、相棒」
その一言に、酷く心を打たれます。

もう一度初めから読みたくなる、そんな一冊だと思います。
