パクリとか言われていることを抜きにして、何か物足りなさと引っかかりを覚える作品。
確かに絵はきれいなのかもしれませんが、戦闘シーン等の迫力に欠ける気がしました。やたら美形のカオを描きたがるような感じで、美形じゃない奴は雑魚キャラ扱いが多くてなんだかなぁと。
殺さないことをひたすら通す主人公の考えの根本も、私にはよく分かりません。

でも確かに綺麗っぽい絵と美形キャラが好きな人は好きになるでしょう。

様々な漫画をパクっていると疑惑のある漫画です(あくまで疑惑であり断定ではありませんが）
パクリ検証サイトもあるようなので、興味がある人は探してみるのもいいかもしれません。
また、パクリと疑われる部分を除いても、
超音波を銃で跳ね返したり、銃弾の速さが時速３０ｋｍであったりと、

ガン・アクション漫画に必要なリアリティ(もしかすると作者の知識)が足りないと思います。
主人公の行動に一貫性、論理性が欠ける所も個人的に嫌いです。
絵に定評はあるようなので、美形のキャラを目当てに買うのであればオススメです。

星の使徒との対決も中盤に入ろうかというところ。
本巻では、主に前半がスヴェンＶＳ氷使いのディーク＝スラスキー、中後半がシキ戦という構成。
シキ戦では戦闘魔蟲「刹鬼」が登場。
バイオハザードの中ボスぐらいに出てきそうな姿形、強さを有している。
ここでの攻防が本巻の見所。

作者はいわゆる「カッコいい」絵がうまく、難しい構成は採らないので
BLACK CATも小中学生の男子女子に大きく受け入れられそうだ。
その点で少年誌向きであるが、ただ、連載されていた週刊少年ジャンプは実際のところ読者の年齢層が幅広い。
少し上の年齢の視点で読むとストーリーの各所に掘り下げ不足を感じる。
展開的には王道で少年誌的には良作だが、例えば本巻で言えば、
かつてあったと言われる道士とクロノスの抗争についてなどは
あまりにも「そのまんま」な印象で、どうしても「それだけ？」と思ってしまう。
他巻にも言及すると、サヤ＝ミナツキや元Ｎｏ.Xのアッシュのエピソードなども
描き方次第で強力な見せ場になっていたと思うのだが、なんとなく物足りないまま終わっている。
メイン・サブ含めて登場キャラが多いことで１つ１つのストーリーにあまり時間がかけられなくなっているのかもしれないが、
反面、うまくまとまった構成になっているので読みやすいのは確かである。

各話の間の遊びのページではキャラクタープロフが紹介されることがある。
本編とは関係ないキャラ設定を知ることができる。
作中では説明不足になるキャラも多いので、これによって情報を補完することができる。
