八木先生の漫画は特徴的な描き味がありますが、そこは「クレイモア」。ダークな雰囲気と相まって、かなり活かされていますね。凄いマッチしています。
ストーリーは特に難しいことは無く、シンプル且つ人間味あるダークファンタジー…という感じでしょうか。(表情豊かなラキのおかげでバランスがとれてます)
時折見せる悪魔のようなクレアの表情にゾクゾクします…!(やはり彼女には返り血が似合う…!)
戦闘描写もなかなかのもの。重みのある容赦のない斬撃。鮮血の飛沫。巧いです。この第一巻では五人組との妖魔との戦闘、対空攻撃による大剣投擲には「ぉお!!?」と驚かせる迫力があります。

他の漫画に良く見られるのですが、この作品は序盤からして描写に不自然な部分が一切感じられませんでした。しょっぱなから描き慣れ…というか、馴染みがあります。そういう部分も高評価です。

前作「エンジェル伝説」とはうってかわってシリアスなノリのCLAYMORE。
妖魔を狩ることを使命としている組織の一員であるクレアの冒険を描いた作品です。
前作よりも絵が完成されており、内容的にも迫力の戦闘シーンあり、感動的な
シーンありで大変楽しめる作品に仕上がっています。

主人公クレアが妖魔退治を依頼された村で出会った少年ラキ。
村の皆から見捨てられてしまったラキとの旅が始まります。

クールで感情を顔に出さない主人公クレアの魅力とその華奢な
体で大剣を振り回すカッコ良さも見所。

この1巻の表紙に一目惚れして購入したけど絵も話も期待以上。
