小説から学ぶことはたくさんありますが、マンガから学ぶ事だってむちゃくちゃあるのではないのでしょうか。

野球を題材にしているところが野球経験者の私に好感を与えました。
荒れに荒れている野球部。試合中の乱闘で対外試合禁止。
今の高校野球にだって(バットで殴りつけるというのはさすがにありませんが)そのような罰せられるような事が起こっています。
そしてこの漫画に出てくる野球部はまさにそれで、そこに一般的に不良と言われる生徒が描き出されています。

一見ただの野球漫画で、そこからうまく立て直し、最後には甲子園に行く。
そのような薄っぺらいストーリーではなく、部員一人一人が、人から見れば小さな問題を、個人の中では大きな問題を抱えています。
それを新任教師が難しいことわざと言葉と体で解きほぐし教えていきます。

もちろんこの一冊でROOKIESの面白さは感じられますが、個人的には先の巻も読んでもらいたいと思います。
漫画喫茶でもいいしブックオフでもいいし、とにかく全巻を通して必ず何か心の中に残る。そんなマンガですよ！

まさに現代のスポ根ですね。
最高です川籐先生、あの熱さには心を打たれました。
そして川籐先生の魅力の一つである、事あるごとに「ことわざ」を、
言うことです、それ自体も面白いのですが、周りの反応も最高です。
絵も劇画調で背景も、みっちりちゃんと描き込まれていてリアルです。
もう川籐先生は猪突猛進です、その猪突猛進さで、
不良生徒達を、どんどんと野球に目覚めさしていくの面白いです。
作品全体に漂う、このハイテンションなリズムが気持ちいいです。

読み手にこびることのない現代的なかる〜い口調などが、退屈な不良生徒たちの日常をリアルに描いている。そういうリアルに飛び込んだ、時代錯誤な熱血教師。

だけど退屈な毎日が、徐々に刺激に変わっていく生徒たちを見ていると、時代錯誤な教師だとかいってる場合じゃなく、漫画というレベルを超えた強烈な存在感を川藤先生に受けまくっている自分自身がいた。自分も川藤先生に学んでみたかったなという理想のようなもの。

こんな時代だからこそ熱いものがある、傑作！
