秋本 治
1952年、東京都葛飾区生まれ。’76年、『こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所』で週刊少年ジャンプの新人賞“ヤングジャンプ賞”に入選し、デビュー。同年9月から週刊少年ジャンプで同作の連載を始める。以来、現在(’07年4月)に至るまで一度も休載することなく、少年誌の連載最長寿記録を更新中。同作品で、’01年に第30回日本漫画家協会賞を、’05年に第50回小学館漫画賞審査委員特別賞を受賞(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

本書は超長寿漫画「こち亀」の連載３０周年を記念して出版されたノベライズだ。日本推理作家教会に所属する中堅から大御所までの作家７名が寄稿している。シリーズ小説として人気の高い「新宿鮫」や「池袋ウェストゲートパーク」の登場人物とこち亀の主人公両津勘吉の競演が本書のウリのようだ。しかし読んでみると、鮫島やマコトとドタバタを繰り広げる両さんよりも、京極夏彦や東野圭吾描く両さんのほうが原作のイメージに近いし、純粋に面白かった。

京極夏彦「ぬらりひょんの褌」は大原部長が学生時代に遭遇した妖怪ぬらりひょんの正体が、数十年の時を経て暴かれる話だ。京極夏彦の十八番である妖怪談とこち亀ワールドがみごとにミックスされていて面白い。

東野圭吾「目指せ乱歩賞！」これは乱歩賞の賞金と印税に目がくらんだ両さんが乱歩賞へ応募すべくめちゃくちゃな勢いで小説を書き始める話なのだが、その様子がとにかくスゴイ。両手両足で４つのキーボードを操り、用紙やインクの補充が間に合わないほどのスピードで印刷を実行、ついにはPCが火を噴いてしまうほどなのだから、両さんの人間離れぶりは原作にも引けを取らない。さてこの話。オチは賞選考の過程や曖昧さを熟知しているベテラン作家ならではのもので、なかなか興味深いものになっている。

それにしても連載３０年ってちょっとスゴイ。
３０年の間、原作者の秋元治は１度も休載せずに描き続けたというのだから頭が下がる。

漫画も小説もフィクションなのに、それがコラボすることで、まるで本当にその世界が存在するかのような錯覚にとらわれます。
各作家さんの『こち亀』への”愛”が伝わってきます。
両さんのハチャメチャ度では、京極夏彦さん、柴田よしきさんの作品がダントツ！
抱腹絶倒で、通勤電車で読まれる方はご注意を（笑）です。
個人的には、今野敏さんのプラモデルの話が一番好きです。最後の最後に一瞬登場する両さんのシーンに、グッと心をつかまれました。

7人の作家をよく知らない人でも、よく知っている人は一層楽しめます。
新宿鮫のレギュラー陣の幼馴染だったり、誰かの夢の中に登場したり、書いている作家自身もとっても楽しんでいる様子がうかがえます。
個人的には両さんらしさが出ているのは東野圭吾作品かな。
京極夏彦作品は京極さんらしい落ちが付いていてこれまた楽しい。
欲を言えば宮部みゆきさんにも書いてほしいし、乃南アサの音道貴子と共演、というのもいいな〜
