とにかく登場人物が多い。
そしてそれぞれが活躍したり、問題を起こしたりするので
感覚が開いてしまうと
どんな話だったかわからなくなってしまいます。
それはこちらの理解力の乏しさのせいかもしれませんが。

語り手は
もう他界してしまっているおばあちゃん。
彼女の夫が一家の大黒柱で
その息子と（モデルは内田裕也さんですか？）
孫３人、孫の嫁そしてひ孫が２人の大所帯。
そこにもう一人の孫の婚約者。
多すぎますよ。
語り手のおばあちゃんも戸惑ってるんじゃない？
ただ、一人ひとりの性格付けはしっかりしているので
読み手にも混乱は起こりませんけどね。

この一家に大小さまざまな問題が持ち込まれ、
といっても家族の仲が壊れるような問題じゃなく、
周りの問題なんだけど、
なぜかそれをこの一家が解決していっちゃう、そんな話です。

読み進めていって
何故だか懐かしい、そんな感じを持ちました。
うちは３世代同居の家だったから
そう感じたのかもしれません。
ノスタルジックな感慨にふけることの出来る一冊でした。

物語自体は
語りがおばあちゃんだからか、
柔らかい感じで
ものすごく読みやすいものでした。
そこへんに好き嫌いがでるかもしれませんが。

孫の名前が　藍子　紺　青　というのも筆者のこだわりでしょうか？
すべて青系統の色でまとめられているとこがなんか、いいですよね。

　東京の下町にある老舗の古書店を舞台に、悲喜こもごもの人情噺を、情緒あふれる
家並にふさわしい登場人物たちが鮮やかに織り上げる、エピソードの数々。

　一徹な親父、奔放なロッカーの倅。三人の孫は真面目にちょっと軽いのと、
あとはシングルマザー。
　登場人物の性格付けは、なかなか考えてあってご苦労様と言いたい。
　一見バラバラで破綻しそうな家族だが、著者の手腕によって見事にまとまり、
面白そうなことには皆が首を突っ込みたがり、トラブルに対しては結構真面目に
解決の道を探る。
　出てくる人はみんな良い人で、昔の「お笑い三人組」や「一丁目一番地」的感じ。
　「なんじゃ？それ。」とおっしゃる向きには「オールウェイズ三丁目の夕日」と
言った方が分かりやすいかも。
　古書店だけに、みんな結構インテリで実は真面目なのがちょっと面白みに欠けるかな、
という嫌いはあるが、誰もが嫌いではない世界だろう。
　そういう意味では、安心して読める一冊だ。

テレビドラマのような大家族活劇でもって
「日常の謎」を展開する離れ業。それでも
個々のキャラクターがしっかりと立っていることから
先へ先へと読ませるリズムが心地いい。

語り手の特異な存在など、随所今風で
技巧的すぎる部分も無いとは云えないが、
日本の在りし日のノスタルジアへ
丹精こめたオマージュは無碍には出来まい。

登場人物の「その後」が読みたくて
すぐに続編を手にとってしまう、
夢中になれるそんな一冊。
