「佐賀のがばいばあちゃん」の続き〜高校生〜二十歳ごろの話。お坊さんとの話やプロレスラーのグレート・アントニオのエピソードも面白い。野球部の推薦で高校に入り甲子園めざして頑張る姿や、八百屋さんに就職してからの話など、笑いあり、ハプニングありで一気に読んでしまった一冊です。

広島のかあちゃんとの再会に涙がにじみました。1作目の「佐賀のがばいばあちゃん」でばあちゃんと別れた昭広少年。その後がとても気になっていました。ばあちゃんとはどうなったの。野球はどうなったの。そして怪我で野球ができなくなった時、またまた涙がにじみました。でも、その挫折、絶望から救ってくれたのはやっぱりばあちゃんだったのですね。

黒谷友香さんが、幻冬舎のHPのなかのエッセイでこの本をお勧めの本として紹介していましたので、買ってみました。
野球部の練習に来なくなった同級生に戻ってくるように説得したところや、怪我で野球を断念して学校にいかなくなっていたころ、逆に野球部にもどった同級生にはげまされて学校にまた通うようになったところは、よかったなあ思いました。

　面白いけれど、まとまりのない物語になってしまった。洋七さんがテレビで同じ内容をしゃべっていたが、その方が面白かった。洋七さん、おしゃべりで頑張れ。
