霊媒師・能城あや子と“愉快な仲間達”がそれぞれの得意技を駆使して、悩める子羊たちを救い、悪に鉄槌を下す、ユーモア・ミステリ。
犯罪がらみの案件が多いので、さながら、井上版仕置き人といった風情があります。まだまだチーム全体の謎を残したまま終わっているので、シリーズ化に期待大ですね。
最終話が予想通りの展開で、取り急ぎ店じまいといった感があったので、星ひとつ減点ですが、井上ファンならずとも楽しんで読めるお勧め本です。

霊能者能代あや子はテレビ番組で視聴者の相談に霊視で応え、さまざまな事実を言い当てる。相談者本人すら気づかなかった事実や、事件の真相をズバリだ。

それもそのはず彼女には強力な調査チームがついているのだ。事前調査であらかじめ相談者の家に忍び込んだり、ハッキングまがいのことをして個人情報を盗み、相談者の背景を探るふたりの男女。盲目のなんちゃって霊能者能代はその結果をもっともらしく告げるだけ。

しかし単なるお悩み相談で済まないのが小説の面白さ。思わぬ事件の真相が暴かれたり、過去の事故の真実が解明されたりして、相談者の心は軽くなっていく。そして忘れてならないのが能代の霊能力に疑問を抱く記者の存在。これが最後までチームに執拗に迫ってくる。なんとか嘘を暴こうと必死だ。

「被害者が誰もいない」という記者の妻の言葉が全てを表現しているだろう。むろんチームのやっていることは不法行為なのだが、形のあるものを盗んだとか、相手を傷つけたりしないのが彼らのモットー。むしろ悩める人々に真実を突きつけて、迷いを振り払う手助けになっているわけで・・。相談者を暴けば花、自分たちが暴かれなければそれも花という裏返しの微妙さが面白い。短編連作小説なので読みやすい。「ダレカガナカニイル・・」も霊を扱った長編小説だったが、なんと言ってもキレのよさが本作のいいところ。

偽霊能師「能城あや子」と彼女を支えるスタッフが様々な相談を解決していく連作ミステリー。能城あや子はある事件で全盲、耳もほとんど聞こえないという設定なので、活躍するのは周りにいるスタッフ。そのスタッフ達が違法行為をしながらも相談者達の悩みを解決していく。それが時には社会的な事件の解決にも結びつく。あまりにも派手に活躍しすぎなので、その能力に疑問を抱くライターとの対決も読みどころ。連作としての構成も見事で、エンターテイメントとして十分に楽しめる。
