半絵本形式で、ページ数も少なくすぐに読み終わってしまいます。
病気の友達のためにタイムマシンを作ろう、そんな夢を抱いた少年達の物語・・・。
全体を包む思い出・空しさ・やさしさ…不思議な感覚に陥ってしまいます。何よりも感性で読む「物語」なのかもしれません。

村山由佳の小説は、いつも何か挑戦をしている、と思います。この物語では、答えがありません…。
村山由佳は、話だけを提示し、何の結論も示しません…。全てを私達に委ねた、厳しい物語です。
だから、最初読んだ時には、何か物足りなく感じてしまいました。でも、しばらくして、何かを思い直しました。
そんな物語です。本当に不思議な感覚でした。

また、学習塾の生徒に薦めたところ、何人かの小学生の子が読んで、気に入ってくれました。
小学生の生徒達はこの本を読んで何を感じるのだろう…と思いました。不思議です。子どもも大人も読める小説って大好きです。
みんなに読んでもらいたい小説です。

僕は、中学受験に出るかもしれないということでこの本に出会いました。その時はただ受験に出そうな部分を何回か読んだりしただけでした。しかし、受験が終わりもう１度読んでみると受験勉強中のときとは違い、この小説の奥深さに気づきました。僕よりも少し年下ぐらいの主人公たちの友情や病気のヤンチャとの約束を守るためにタイムマシーンを完成させること。そして約束。最後は、何とも言えない結末…　。本当に奥の深い本だと思いました。この本を読んでいると結構いろいろと考えてしまいます。
　　　　　　　「発進僕らのタイムマシーン!」

まさに、村山ワールド！
懐かしいような、切ないような、何とも言えない余韻を残して読み終わった。４人の少年にとってタイムマシンな一冊は、読んだ私にもキラキラしていたあの頃を蘇らせてくれる。
ホッコリしたい時に、お勧めします。挿絵も優しさであふれています。
