今春、映画化されるとのことで１年ぶりで読み返しました。村上龍の小説で「69」というタイトルからすると、またエロイ描写たっぷりの作品ではと思われる方も多いと思いますが、「69」というタイトルは1969年に高校３年生だった村上龍自身のエピソードを綴った自伝的小説であることから取られています。内容は、著者自身が「これは楽しい小説である。こんなに楽しい小説を書くことはもうないだろう」と述べている通り、本当に面白い小説で、村上龍作品に限らず面白い小説のＴＯＰ10に入るであろう作品です。でも、そこは村上龍のこと、文章のあちらこちらにメッセージが込められています。それを要約すると「私から大切なものを奪おうとした退屈な連中に復讐する唯一の方法は彼らよりも楽しく生きること」。そして「楽しく生きるためにはエネルギーがいる。戦いである。私はその戦いを今も続けている」こと。世の中の枝葉末節に嫌気や怒りがさした時、「ああ、ばかげたことで悩むのはやめよう」と思わせてくれる本です。

この小説は作者、村上龍氏の高校時代の自伝的小説であることは広く知られている。そして「青春」というキーワードでしばし語られる作品である。
確かにその通り、ここに「見つけたぞ」「何を？」「永遠の青春小説を！」と叫びたくなる作品で、爆笑、納得、感涙（？）、最高の娯楽作品となっている。

電車の中で読んでいて笑いがこらえきれなくなる苦痛を味わいたくば、ぜひ電車でこの本を読んでみることをおすすめする。
太大字で記されたパワー溢れる箇所がこれまた最高！
しかし決して登場人物が若いからこその青春とは思わない。
いくつになっても、情熱（さえあれば、それ）は青春の証。

現在の著者を見ていてそれを感じる（作品レビューではないが）。
