文章が軽快で読みやすく、爆笑こそなかったものの面白かったです。
あ〜インドってこういう国なんだな。すげえなあ〜というのがよくわかります。
正直、行く先々で空中3ｍを浮遊するヨガの話を引っ張るのには飽きてしまったのも事実ですが。
(だって読む前から「そりゃないだろう」という固定観念が付いちゃいますよね)

それにしても、この価格でカラー写真が満載なのには満足です。
インドって、どういう国なんだろう？ふと疑問に思った時の導入編としては最適かも。

この蒸し暑い中、発作的にインドを旅したくなった。暑いときに暑いところへ行くのが旅の王道ではないか、と。それをやってのけたのがこの本。４６度の炎熱地獄のかの地は、椎名氏のフィルターを通すとごく庶民的で生のバイタリティにあふれた等身大の国であった。

学生の頃、藤原新也の「印度放浪」にしびれた。しかし今は辛気臭くて受け付けない。作家も自分も妙に哲学ぶって、インドという国を崇高で何か特別な国としてとらえていた気がする。その点椎名氏は、見たこと聞いたこと感じたことを変にこねくり回すことなく、例の語りで、まさに「そっくりそのまま」あっさり文章にしている。

インドという国に親近感を与える一冊だと思う。人間（老若男女）にフォーカスをあてた写真もいい。

インド人はみんなカレーを食べているのか、カースト制が生きているというのは本当なのか、なぜターバンを巻き、サリーを着るのか。
そして、３メートル浮き上がるヨガの達人に会うことは出来るか。

かなりユニークな目的でインドを旅する椎名誠の旅行記です。

飾り気のない表現で感じたこと、見たままを表してくれるのでおもしろいし、インドという国ってだいたいこんな空気なのかな、と想像しやすかったです。
たくさん掲載されている写真も魅力的で、眺めているだけでも楽しかった。
ただ、率直な文章が逆に少し読みにくく、長時間読んでいると疲れてしまう部分や、同じような口調に正直飽きてしまう部分もありました。
少しずつ、本当に旅する気分で読みたいと思います。
