宮部みゆきの短編集。
宮部は長編を書かせてももちろん非常にうまいが、
短編も本当にうまい。

短編には短いがために設定の甘さなどが見られる小説家も多い中、
宮部の作品にはそれが全く感じられない。
短編の中にもしっかりと人物像がなりたって、
人物の心の描写も巧みだ。

個人的には書名にもなっている「地下街の雨」がいい。

設定、文章構成力がとにかくうまい。
文句なく★５つです。

宮部みゆきさんのよさは社会で身近にある問題を題材にしていること。『火車』のようなカード社会や殺人はあまりない短編集でしたが、現代にありがちな問題を考えさせられる小説でした。ミステリーだけではなく、疲れない短編集です。身近な出来事で考えさせられることもあるのでは？

どんな物語でも、そこに人間の感情があるから、
人生の糧になるのだと思います。

話の筋より人の感情のほうを、より細かく書いてあるから、
この著者の物語は好きでない、と思う人がいるようですが、
私はそれだからこそ彼女の物語にひかれます。

【地下街の雨】は、裏切られた時の気分と似ている。
それでも、傘を持って待っていてくれる人もきっといるから。

赤い糸でなく、黒い糸でつながった人もいる。
それは、【決して見えない】。それも、運命の出会い。

一家心中の原因も、見る人によって千差万別。
【不文律】は、外からは分からないから。

いたずら電話をする者は、いつか退治されてしまう。
【混線】は、退治された人の悲鳴である場合もあるのだ。

口うるさく気難しい伯母が亡くなった。そこへ３０年以上前の手紙が。
それは、彼女の【勝ち逃げ】宣言なのか。

哀れにも、魔の時に襲われてしまった人に関わると、
すべての名前が【ムクロバラ】になり・・・。

ひとりぼっちの祖母は、ひとりぼっちのキリハラさんにだけ
告げて行こうとした。【さよなら、キリハラさん】と。
