著者の荒俣宏は、常人の域を越えた博識の持ち主である。もう怪人と言ってよいだろう。その怪人荒俣が古代のイギリスの謎、レイラインから始まって、聖マイケルライン、パレスチナからアイルランドを結ぶアポロンライン、そして日本にも在ったレイラインまでの事実を我々に教えてくれた。しかし、正確な測量技術も地球が丸い事すら分かっていなかった古代に、異なる文明、異なるに民族に属するこれらの地に、どうやってこのような正確な直線上に遺蹟が並んだのか、その技術も意図も分からない。怪人荒俣は、読者に、古代人が残したとんでもないスケールのミステリーへ誘う道筋を示したのに過ぎないのかもしれない。読後に感じるスケールの大きさは星５つに充分値する。

とても面白かったのですが、最終章の日本のレイラインについて
こちらの好奇心に火をつけたままおわってしまったので、続きが
早く読みたいという気持ちをこめて星４つにしました。

神聖幾何学については、文庫本一冊ではとてもおさまらないでしょうが、それにしても、イギリスを横断する「聖マイケルライン」の章を
よんで、おもわず現地に行ってしまいました。次は、レイラインをた
どりに南フランスへと行く計画を立てております。

それにしても、日本のレイラインについての続編はいつでるのでしょうか？楽しみでわくわくしております。神社仏閣についてめぐった
風水先生の本も作って欲しいなぁ。

　1980-90年代に書き散らした風水の話をまとめた本。書き下ろし部分も多い。『風水先生』の続巻に位置づけられるが、独立して読んでも良い。
　聖マイケル・ライン、レンヌ・ル・シャトー、三輪山など世界各地の「風水的」な話が集められている。実際に足を運んで調べたものがほとんどだが、ちょっとバラバラで調査不充分な印象が強い。
　荒俣氏本人は入れ込んでいるようだが、私は氏の風水ものは面白くないと思う。たぶん、風水に対しては氏が「遊び」として割り切れていないからだろう。
