人生のどん底に落ちてたときに読んだ一冊なんですが、以来、手放せません。
この本をきっかけに、らもさんの本を買い漁るようになったほどです。
読んでいると、自殺した友人に宛てたお叱りの文章のようなものがありますが、これを読んで思わず泣きそうになりました。
それを読んで励まされて、今の自分がいて、僕は毎日をなんとか生きています。
言葉の力って凄いですね。
今では大事な大事な一冊。
この本に出合えたことはとても幸せなことだったと今でも思います。
ほんとに「もうダメ！限界！」という方に読んでいただきたい本です。

5.0 out of 5 stars 私が中島らもに夢中になったキッカケ！！, 2004/12/11
この本の内容を初めて知ったのは、当時私が中学生の時だった。
進学塾に通っていた私は「国語の問題文」として、これを読んだのだ。
正直な感想として、とても面白かったのだが、それ以上に
著者が体験した、東大進学率No.1である灘高の優等生から落第生への転落、
そしてその後の浪人体験についての内容を読んでいると、
当時高校受験を控えていた私は、
何とも言えない空しさ、切なさを覚えてしまった。
そして、それを機にただ漠然と考えていてた
「将来｣というものについて真剣に考えるようになったのだ。

著者の実体験を元にした話には、誰もが思春期に持っていた、
希望、不安、葛藤、バカ話などがふんだんに盛り込まれている。
大人には懐かしく、自分自身の思春期が思い出されて
何処か心が疼くような内容であるが、
いま、思春期を生きている中高生にも是非とも読んでもらいたい作品である。

まずお酒を飲んで、階段から転落して天に召された中島らもさんに哀悼の意を表します。好きな作家の中でらもさんと橋本治さんの書くものの方向性はいつも掴めなかった。どうしてかと今考えても、お二人とも自分でも一度書いてしまったら、もうその次は、新人と同じで一からスタートを繰り返していたからではなかったろうか。らもさんのお笑いへのこだわりは一貫していたが、この本を読むと灘高の秀才がいかに傷つき、挫折し、街に踏まれて、その痛みをお笑いで癒していたのが痛いほどわかる。傷ついた心はお笑いだけでなくお酒やドラッグまで繋がっていくのだが、らもさんのお笑いの心は読者の痛みも治癒してくれてきた。どうもありがとう、最後までらもさんらしい一生でした。
