確かに子供向けの作品だとは思います。

でも普通におもしろくて、
随所随所で声を出して笑えました。

いろんなお父さんとその子供たちの関係が描かれています。

悪役プロレスラーのお父さん。
売れない落語家のお父さん。
イタズラばかりしかけるお父さん。
子供のケンカに必死になるお父さん。

おもしろくて微笑ましい四つの素敵なお話でした。

この著者の作品で一番最初に読んだのがバンド・オブ・ザ・ナイト。
薬物依存の人々をらも氏の分身である主人公の「らんちゃん」が自身もドラッグに世話になりつつ冷静な目で見つめたものを、色鮮やかな言葉で織り成した芭蕉布のような作品。

著者は狂ってるのか---胸の中がざわざわする本なのだが、その作品の後に読んだので、この「お父さんのバックドロップ」は、否応なく対極にあるように感じられた。

子供の目線で、親の背中を見て思ったこと。
子供の脳みそで、ありったけ考えたこと。

それは誰にでもあったことだからこそ余計共感できるのではないだろうか。この短編の登場人物が読み方を変えれば誰もが主人公に思える。全短編、どれも「はずれ」がない。
らも氏の優しさが文面から滲み出てくる素敵な、子供にも読ませたい本だ。

らもさんの心温まる話に癒されました。ところどころ思わず吹き出してしまう表現があって、また読み返したいなあと思います。万人受けしそうな内容ですが、普通の人の感性では書けない話です。やはりらもさんは天才だよ。個人的にはお父さんのペット戦争が好きです。もちろん他の話も良いです。
