あらすじもどきを読んでいなければ、最初から読んでも
「？」なＳＦ大作です。

でも、読み進めるうちに、これは、歴史ＳＦ、タイムトラベル？
ＳＦとしては、日本の小説では、かなり面白い、って思います。

ハードＳＦのマニアックな罠に陥ることなく、２・２６事件に介入
し、過去を操作することを、どのように行うのか、のイマジネーション
とガジェットが、斬新で、とっても知的興味をそそる、かなりな
傑作です。

お話がおおきな転換を見せるところで、下巻です。
全部を読み終えるのがもどかしいくらいの、一押しの娯楽大作。

正しい歴史に直そうとする未来人。それをするには、その時代の人物に協力してもらわなければならない。歴史改善という設定はよくあるパターンであるが、歴史人物に事情を話して協力してもらうという点は少し珍しい。私はファンタジー要素の強いものは苦手な方だけど、これはけっこう好きな話でした。「月の裏側」でちょっと、彼女の作品はついてけないなーと思っていましたが。歴史改善に奮闘する四日間、その中で人間特有のある性質がうまく表現されている作品だと思います。恩田さん特有？の続きを読みたくなる謎めいた文章で、一気に読んでしまいました！後味も別に悪くありません。恩田さんのファンタジーな作品が好きな方には、いいと思いますよ。ファンタジー嫌いな方にとっては意見が分かれそうですけど。

2・26事件を題材にした歴史SF小説です。
将来こんなことが実際に起こるのだろうか、と思うぐらい現実離れしているが、歴史上の興味深い出来事と未来予想図が一緒になっており、大変おもしろい。
内容はそれほど深いわけではないが、どんどん引き込まれていきます。
すぐに読める部類に入ると思います。
そういう意味では、電車のお供にいいのかと。
読んだ時期が2月26日の近くということもあり、印象深い書籍になりました。
SFを今までに読んだことのない人にも、入門書としてお勧めです。
早く下巻が読みたくなること、間違いなしです。
