1949年函館生まれ。1995年、「幻の声」で第七十五回オール読物新人賞受賞。2000年、『深川恋物語』で第二十一回吉川英治文学新人賞受賞。2001年、『余寒の雪』で第七回中山義秀文学賞受賞。著書多数(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

　単なる時代小説ではない。読み終えた時、胸に熱いものを感じることでしょう。若い女性にも是非読んで欲しい作品です。勿論、時代小説ファンも決して失望しない江戸の風物の描写はぴか一。登場人物の設定も抜群。ストーリー展開も無駄が無く、この本を手に取れば一気に読まされてしまうことでしょう。文庫本も昔と比べると高くなりましたけど、
久しぶりに、ちょっと得した気になる文庫本です。

図書館で何気なく宇江佐さんの作品を手にとって以来、すべての作品を読みつくしました。どれも、登場人物の声が生き生きと聞こえてくるようですが、この作品が一番じーんときました。決して卑屈にならず、かといってヒーローぶらず、そんな主人公の生き方に圧倒されました。宇江佐さんはほんとうにすごい。

自分の死を顧みず、身体を張って、あさみを守る権三。「おっこちきれたんだよぅ…。」…捕物をやっていく中で、人間の心を学んでいき、益々人間としての器が大きくなっていく権三。自分の家族・両親を愛し抜く権三。

読んでいて、心がいっぱいになります。何回も読みたくなる、名作です!!(こんな旦那が欲しい…(笑))
