さすが、村山由佳さんだな。っと、感じる作品。
外側からは見れないかもしれないけれど、内側にたくさんの悩みを抱えた人たちが苦しみながらも一生懸命生きていく姿には、他人事じゃなく感じられ胸がズキンと傷む。読みながら、自分も一生懸命悩んでしまう。

『おいしいコーヒーの入れ方』シリーズのような、甘いラブストーリーではないけど、読み終わったあとのずっしりとした、それでいて自分が少し成長したような感じになる作品類のなかでは、この作品は、かなり上位にランクインするのではないでしょうか？読んだあとの充実感は保証します。また、「海を抱く」のほうではない「BAD KIDS」を読んでから読むと、ちょっとおもしろいですよ！！

高校生の時にこの本を読み、衝撃を受けました。やっと文庫化ですね。
何気なく図書館で手にした本。読み始めたら最後まで止まらなかった。基本的に一人称で語られているのだけど、光秀と恵理、この２人の主人公が交互に語っていく様がいいですね。ロマンチックなラブ・ストーリーではないですけど、読み終わった後、なんとなく人が恋しくなります。

主人公の女子高生の本心はまるで自分を見ているようで、ドキッとした。この作品でようやく私が何故村山由佳を愛読するのか悟った。
自分の中に男と女が同居している。ある時期まで私は同性に関心があった。女に目覚めていなかった。中学の時男の子に告白されてたかもしれないのに、私の視線は側で寝ていた同級生の女子に向いていた。
そういう性を持つ人間の業が創作の源となる。恥ずかしい事なのに書かなければいられない。
