本当に貫井さんはうまい。こんなオムニバスを読むと、「やられた！」という感じになる。とりわけ「崩れる」のキレる奥さんの不気味さは秀逸です。この本を読んだ後は、つい我々亭主族は我が奥さんに対して言葉遣いも丁寧になろうと言うものです。

８つの短編集から成り、それぞれの題名も的を得ている。作者の貫井氏自身ご結婚されているのかわからないが、まだ比較的若いのに女性の心理がとてもよく描けている。私は常々日本の男性作家は女性が描けていない人があまりに多くてあきれていたし、そのためにあまり男性作家の本を読む気にならなかったが、この作者の鋭い洞察力、観察力には驚かされる。本のタイトルにもなっている｢崩れる｣はどうして最近の日本の女性はなかなか結婚しないのか、一体結婚生活に何が不満なのか？とマジで不思議だと思っている男性諸君に読んでもらいたい作品。私が一番好きな作品は｢誘われる｣。これは最後にどんでん返しがあり、思わぬ展開にやられた！と苦笑。この本も家事、育児にほとんど参加してない男性に読んで!もらいたい。貫井氏って女性にとってもやさしい人なのかも！

どれも身近な題材を選んでいるので、いつ自分に起こっても不思議でない作品が揃っている。
身につまされて、日々の生活を反省してしなうような作品もあった。
けれど、私が一番面白かったのは、最初の「崩れる｣です。
質問に答える形で話は進んでいくのですが、少しずつ少しずつ小さな不満がたまって、それをずっと我慢している。

それでもその日は朝から全てが自分に不利になっていて、何か些細なことをきっかけに、ぷつんと糸が切れる。
いや~寒気がしました。
貫井ファンではない人でも読んで欲しいです。
