偶然本屋で手に取った文庫本に過ぎなかったのであるが、本書とはとても良い出会いであった。
第一話の短編からとても不思議な気持ちにさせる短編集であり、一気に読んだ。
小学校高学年から中学生にかけて夢中になった星新一のショートショートよりはやや長い短編であったが、当時と似たような感動が蘇った。
読んでいる最中は頭の中がSF映画を観賞している状態になったり、不思議な現象を目の当たりにしたような錯覚に陥った。
しかも、著者はまだ若く今後の活躍が大いに期待できる。

僅か500円でとても楽しめるため、強くお薦めできる。

「二階扉」や「動物園」「バスジャック」は、世にも奇妙な物語のような怖さがある短編で面白かった。 しかし最後の「送りの夏」が長文の上、心温まるような話に纏められており、オチがなく残念でした。 ブラックな題材で心温まれというのが無理な話。 最後の最後に裏切られた気分。 原宏一の床下仙人の方が、面白いかも。

『となり町戦争』が楽しかったので手に取りました。
7編の短編が収められています。
「二階扉をつけてください」の諧謔、「しあわせな光」の叙情、「バスジャック」の皮肉、「動物園」の愉悦、「送りの夏」の死生観、どれも楽しくハッと虚を衝かれる作品です。
ただ、なぜ二階扉をつけなきゃいけないとか、なぜバスジャックなのかとか、親切な説明はないので、そこに引っかかると作品を楽しめないかもしれません。そこは頭を柔軟に、作品に入り込めば楽しいひと時が楽しめると思いますよ。
