この本は人間の狂った部分とその反対に位置するようなの優しさに触れることができる作品だと思う。どの短編も生きていくことを考えさせられる
おすすめは「陽だまりの詩」、乙一得意のグロイ描写がほとんど無く万人に受け入れられる作品だと思うので、これまで乙一を読んだことのない人も、触れてみてほしい。

〔あらす〜じ〕
・カザリとヨーコ…双子の姉妹の話。妹は母親に可愛がられるが姉は虐待の日々。。。

・SEVEN　ROOMS…いきなり、見知らぬ男に部屋に閉じ込められた姉弟。部屋は7つあり一人ずつ順番に殺されては補充される。。。

・SO-far　そ・ふぁー…あるきっかけを機に父は母がみえず、母は父が見えない。その間にはさまれた息子の話

・陽だまりの詩…世界に突然、病がはやりその病気になってしまった人は例外なく２ヶ月で死ぬ。彼は自分を死んだ後埋めてくれるロボットをつくった。

・ZOO…自分の彼女を殺した犯人を必死に探す彼。その犯人とは・・・??

〔感想〕
『カザリとヨーコ』はありがちだけど、展開読めてしまいそうだけど怖いです。『SEVEN　ROOMS』はホントに後味悪い。『SO-far　そ・ふぁー』は不思議な話。さほどﾎﾗｰって感じではないかも。『陽だまりの詩』は温かい。。。ﾛﾎﾞｯﾄが死を理解できるか否か？感情をもてるか？というテーマみたいなものに対する結末にジーンときた。『ZOO』は狂ってる。。。ただ単に狂ってるとしか言いようがない。

乙一はただ単に怖いというわけではなく、読んだ後その読後感がなんともいえない。。。物語は終わったはずなのに、何も解決してないじゃん!!みたいな。

　新進気鋭のホラー作家だと聞いて，ふっと鼻で笑った。
　和製ホラーはみんな喜劇だと思っている。

　で，乙一という若い作家の作品を今更ながら初めて読んでみたけど，頭を玄翁でぶっ叩かれたような気がした。
　いや，すごかった。こんな恐ろしかった本は初めてかもしれない。
　２時間で読み終えた。いや，すごい短編集だった。



　なんとなく星新一にちょっと似てるかもしれないけど，あんなパステルカラーな内容ではない。すごく怖くて，もっと強烈だ。
　もちろん怖い話ばかりでなく，すごくやさしく切ない話もある。



　何ていおうか。
　どの作品も，　『死』　というものをまざまざと見せつけられる。
　生と死の対比を露骨に明瞭に上手に描いて，生きる喜びというのを上手に表現している。
　そして愛と憎しみ。　最後にやってくる自由と開放のコントラストとして閉鎖感や束縛感を強烈に描いている。
　生と死と愛が一体であることを，とても生々しくダイレクトに表現している。
　文章も上手だ。

　インパクトはおそらく誰もが　『Seven Rooms』　を筆頭に挙げるのだろう。
　他の短編もなんだか悪い夢でもみているかのような話ばかり。

　人は悪夢から覚めたとき現実世界に生きていることに安堵するけど，これらの短編を読み終えたときはまさにそういう感じだった。
