とても面白く痛快な本です。初版が発売されてから15年？20年？くらいたったと思いますが、現在の新装版は言い回しや表現が変更されているようです。ストーリーの勢いや氷室さんの持ち味を味わうなら、昔の峯村良子さんイラストの旧版も読まれてはいかがでしょうか？　個人的には新装版の漫画チックなイラストに違和感を覚えるので星1つ下げます。ごめんなさい。

私が生まれたか、生まれてないかくらいの頃の本なのに、この新鮮さはなんだろう？初めて読んだのが、中学生か高校生だった。平安時代という、なじみない世界にきゅんと来ました。 物語のテンポ良く、どれくらい書き直したのかは分からないけれど、古さは感じられず、歴史音痴の私にも読みやすかったです。

何より、瑠璃姫はパワフルで魅力的！高彬も一途で格好良いし、東宮も格好良すぎ！！
もう、どっちともくっついちゃえ！みたいな気分でドキドキしながら読んでました。
１巻目は、はちゃめちゃラブコメディ＆冒険的な要素が強かったけど、２巻目は泣けます！最後の方には、うるうるきちゃいました。切なく、と思いきや笑えたり、幅広です！
イラストは後藤星さん。華麗に描かれています★

学生時代から読んでいますが、我が家の女性陣はみんなはまりました！
というのも、平安時代の話なのですが、冒険あり恋愛ありと破天荒な性格の主人公に、ワクワクするんです。

歴史物というと、固いイメージがあったり、言葉使いが難しかったり、若い子が読むのに敬遠されがちですが、私にとってはプラスのことのほうが大きかったです！
なんでかって、、、古文が身近に感じられるようになったんです。
別に、「○○してたもれ〜」みたいな文章じゃなくて、現代の言葉で書かれてあります。
ただ、大内（だいり）とか牛車（ぎっしゃ）など、物の名前が出てくるので覚えてしまうんですよ〜
はちゃめちゃなお姫様の話で、内容だけでも面白いのに、実はためになってたというのもおすすめの理由です。
