　今回はクリスマス。昨年もやった新聞部とのバレンタイン合同イベントを今年も実施。自分たちのことだけでイッパイイッパイの感があった今年の２年生がイベントの目玉ですが、読者である私や彼女たち自身が思っていたよりも人気があるようでホッとしました。

　で、赤や黄色や白のカードの争奪戦になるわけですが、今年は去年よりもまったりムードです。そして問題の瞳子は……（以下ネタバレにつき割愛します）

　バレンタイン本編＋準備編と中篇＋短編の体裁になっていて物足りないことこの上なく、しかもヒキがあんまりにも鬼畜です（読者に対して。レイニーブルーのような非道な展開という意味ではありませんので念のため）。なんで彼女がそういう行動に出たのかまったく分からないわ、爆弾発言で残りはカットだわ、と、もうちょっと落ち着くところまで書いてくれー!!!!とのたうちまわりました。でも今回は大きな展開があったというか巨大な一歩です。そう書いてしまうことさえネタバレ。ここまでシリーズを読んできた人ならここの感想を読む前にさっさと自分の目で読むべきです。

まず定期的なスパンで発刊しつづけている部分を評価したい。
あとがきでも『おあずけ』とあるが、次の刊行が定まっていないライトノベルにおいて、長く続刊が出ない状態が続く方が困りものです。そのまま出ないで廃刊なんていう例も珍しくない。ヒットを飛ばし、ブームもやや下火になった頃でも、安定して刊行しつづける今野センセの作家性を考えると、『おあずけ』も全然容認できます。
内容も、（作中の）去年の話からの派生といった流れで、２年目という時の経過による登場人物の成長等がひししと伝わります。
いきなりこの１冊からは入っても解らない内容ですが、マリみて好きには嬉しい１冊となりました。
今野センセは神です！

「今日の話は昨日の続き、今日の続きはまた明日。」という感じの今回の話。
　いろいろ積み残しの多いことになっているが、そこは我慢しなくっちゃいけません。
　着々とお話は進んでいるのですから。
　
　瞳子と祐巳の決して交わらない双曲線関係はどうやら決着がつきそうですが、なにがそうさせたのか、
がこの本では、まだわかりません。
　作者としてはこの二人の関係を太い幹とし、バレンタインのイベントとか、周囲の人たちのエピソードを
枝葉としていくのでしょう。
　この構図は次に持ち越されますが、そのくらい作者にはこだわりがあるのだと思います。
　ということですから、またまた「明日の話」が楽しみですね。
