4.0 out of 5 stars 事例の省略が誤解を招く可能性あり, 2008/7/4
原書は自分のキャリアを考える上で参考になったいい本なので、友人や同僚にもすすめたいと１冊購入してみたのですが、大変残念なことが一つあります。
原書ではタイプ別に３人ずつあった実際のキャリア事例のうち２つが省略されています。この本に翻訳されているのは各タイプ１つだけで、もっともステレオタイプな事例のみです。３人の実例を見ることで自分の性質を活かしつつどう幸せに成功するかの様々なバリエーションがあることを感じられただけに、この省略は残念なことです。また、ステレオタイプな事例だけを見て、日本人の人事担当者等が誤解する可能性を考えると、このままでは悪影響さえあるのではないかと思います。
ページ数の制限等があったのでしょうが、出版社には全ての事例をウェブで提供するなどの配慮を希望します。

あまり悩まずに自分のタイプを選び、その項目を読むとぐさぐさと突き刺さるような言葉ばかり（悪い意味ではなく）。
ここ一年程ずーっと考えていた「自分の性格、適性」に正に当てはまる事が端的に表現され、自分で描いていた自画像の輪郭をはっきりさせてくれた。自己判定がかなり的確だったことが示されたように感じられ、自信となった。
ちなみに、自分のタイプ以外の項目を読んでみても、普通に字面を追う感じがあるだけで、心に衝撃を受けるような感触はなく、やはり「性格が読まれている」のだなと感じた。
パートナーにも診断してもらい、自己評価、及び互いの評価と一致することも確かめられた。

それぞれのタイプの行動、思考パターン、典型的な人の例、長所、欠点、適職、転職の前に現状を改善するにはどういう戦略がよいか、といった項目が示されている。近しい人以外の他人にそうした情報をあてはめるのが正しいのかはわからないが、自分を知るために、よくよく自問した後に答え合わせ的に用いると、素直にいろいろな教訓を得られるのではないかと思う。

ただし、例示されている「適職」は、訳のせいなのか、お国柄のせいなのか、今一つピンとこなかった。

まるで私を見ているかのように的確で詳細な分析がされていて、驚嘆しました。現在、私が就いている職業も、まさにぴたりと当たっていました。自分で気づかなかった自分にも気づかされ、自己認識を新たにしました。自分の社会性について迷う部分が多かったのですが、いい意味で、自分とはこういう人間なのだと開き直って、自己肯定的に生きていけそうです。同じ職場にいる伴侶とともに興味深く読み、おたがいの仕事人としての評価を再確認しあいました。
